Ὅτι οἶν καὶ ἐκπορθηθήσεσθαι ἡ γῆ Ἰουδαίων ἔμελλεν, ἀκούσατε τῶν εἰρημένων ὑπὸ τοῦ προφητικοῦ πνεύματος· εἴρηνται δὲ οἱ λόγοι ὡς ἀπὸ προσώπου λαῶν θαυμαζόντων τὰ γεγενημένα. Εἰσὶ δὲ οἵδε· Ἐγενήθη ἔρημος Σιών, ὡς ἔρημος ἐγενήθη Ἱερουσαλήμ, εἰς κατάραν ὁ οἶκος, τὸ ἅγιον ἡμῶν καὶ ἡ δόξα, ἣν εὐλόγησαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν, ἐγενήθη πυρίκαυστος, καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔνδοξα αὐτῆς συνέπεσε. Καὶ ἐπὶ τούτοις ἀνέσχου καὶ ἐσιώπησας καὶ ἐταπείνωσας ἡμᾶς σφόδρα. Καὶ ὅτι ἠρήμωτο Ἱερουσαλήμ, ὡς προείρητο γεγενῆσθαι, πεπεισμένοι ἐστέ. Εἴρηται δὲ καὶ περὶ τῆς ἐρημώσεως αὐτῆς, καὶ περὶ τοῖ μὴ ἐπιτραπήσεσθαι μηδένα αὐτῶν οἰκεῖν, διὰ Ἡσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου οὕτως·Ἡ γῆ αὐτῶν ἔρημος, ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτῶν αὐτὴν φάγονται, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐξ αὐτῶν ὁ κατοικῶν ἐν αὐτῇ. Ὅτι δὲ φυλάσσεται ὑφ ὑμῶν ὅπως μηδεὶς ἐν αἰτῇ γένηται, καὶ θάνατος κατὰ τοῖ καταλαμβανομένου Ἰουδαίου εἰσιόντος ὥρισται, ἀκριβῶς ἐπίστασθε
And that the land of the Jews was also to be laid waste, hear the words spoken by the prophetic Spirit; the words were spoken as from the person of peoples marveling at what had happened. They are these: "Zion has become a wilderness, as a wilderness Jerusalem has become; the house, our holy place and the glory which our fathers blessed, has become a curse, has become burned with fire, and all its glorious things have fallen. And at these things you held back and kept silent, and humbled us greatly." And that Jerusalem was laid waste, as it had been foretold would happen, you are convinced. And concerning its desolation, and that none of them should be permitted to dwell in it, it was said through Isaiah the prophet thus: "Their land is a wilderness; before their face their enemies shall devour it, and there shall be none of them dwelling in it." And that it is guarded by you so that no one may be in it, and that death has been decreed against any Jew caught entering it, you know accurately.
至於猶太人的地也要被毀壞，請聽預言之靈所說的話；這些話是以驚奇所發生之事的眾民身分說的。其話如下：「錫安變為曠野，耶路撒冷成了荒場；我們聖潔華美的殿，就是我們列祖稱頌的，被火焚燒，成了咒詛之地，它一切可羨慕的都已敗落。遇見這些事，你竟忍住、靜默不言，使我們大大受了卑微。」至於耶路撒冷被毀，正如先前所預言要發生的，你們是信服的。論到它的荒涼，並無一人得蒙准許住在其中，曾藉先知以賽亞這樣說：「他們的地荒涼，他們的仇敵要在他們面前吞吃，必無一人住在其中。」至於它由你們把守，不讓任何人在其中，並且凡被拿住、進入其中的猶太人都被定了死刑，這你們是確知的。
