ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

For indeed the saying in the Law, 'Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree,' confirms our hope, which hangs upon the crucified Christ—not as though God curses this crucified One, but as foretelling what would be done by all of you and those like you, who do not know that this is He who is before all things, the eternal Priest of God and King, and the One who was to become Christ.
And this you may see happening with your own eyes; for in your synagogues you curse all those who have become Christians from Him, and the other nations also carry the curse into effect, putting to death those who merely confess themselves to be Christians. To all of whom we say: You are our brothers; rather recognise the truth of God. And when neither they nor you are persuaded by us, but contend that we should deny the name of Christ, we choose rather to be put to death and endure it, persuaded that God will give us all the good things He has promised through Christ.
And in addition to all this we pray for you, that you may obtain mercy from Christ. For He taught us to pray even for our enemies, saying: 'Be kind and merciful, as also your heavenly Father is.' For we see that the Almighty God is kind and merciful, making His sun to rise on the unthankful and the righteous, and sending rain upon the holy and the wicked—all of whom, He taught, He is also going to judge.
