3-70:1

Ὅταν δὲ οἱ τὰ τοῦ Μίθρου μυστήρια παραδιδόντες λέγωσιν ἐκ πέτρας γεγεννῆσθαι αὐτόν, καὶ σπήλαιον καλῶσι τὸν τόπον ἔνθα μυεῖν τοὺς πειθομένους αὐτῷ παραδιδοῦσιν, ἐνταῦθα οὐχὶ τὸ εἰρημένον ὑπο Δανιήλ. ὅτι Λίθος ἄνευ χειρῶν ἐτμήθη ἐξ ὄρους μεγάλου, μεμιμῆσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐπίσταμαι, καὶ τὰ ὑπὸ Ἡσαίου ὁμοίως, οὗ καὶ τοὺς λόγους πάντας μιμήσασθαι ἐπεχείρησαν; Δικαιοπραξίας γὰρ λόγους καὶ παρ ἐκείνοις λέγεσθαι ἐτεχνάσαντο

And when those who deliver the mysteries of Mithras say that he was begotten from a rock, and call the place where they initiate those who believe in him a cave—do I not here recognize that they have imitated what was spoken by Daniel, that ‘a Stone was cut out without hands from a great mountain,’ and likewise the words of Isaiah, all of whose sayings they also undertook to imitate? For they contrived to have words of righteous conduct spoken among them too.

Τοὺς δὲ εἰρημένους λόγους τοῦ Ἡσαΐου ἀναγκαίως ἀνιστορήσω ὑμῖν, ὅπως ἐξ αὐτῶν γνῶτε ταῦθ οὕτως ἔχειν. Εἰσὶ δὲ οὗτοι· Ἀκούσατε, οἱ πόρρωθεν,ἃ ἐποίησα· γνώσονται οἱ ἐγγίζοντες τὴν ἰσχύν μου. Ἀπέστησαν οἱ ἐν Σιὼν ἄνομοι· λήψεται τρόμος τοὺς ἀσεβεῖς. Τίς ἀναγγελεῖ ὑμῖν τὸν τόπον τὸν αἰώνιον; Πορευόμενος ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ, λαλῶν εὐθεῖαν ὁδόν, μισῶν ἀνομίαν καὶ ἀδικίαν, καὶ τὰς χεῖρας ἀφωσιωμένος ἀπὸ δώρων, βαρύνων ὦτα ἵνα μὴ ἀκούσῃ κρίσιν ἄδικον αἵματος, καμμύων τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ἵνα μὴ ἴδῃ ἀδικίαν· οὗτος οἰκήσει ἐν ὑψηλῷ σπηλαίῳ πέτρας ἰσχυρᾶς

I will of necessity recount to you the words of Isaiah which were spoken, so that from them you may know that these things are so. They are these: ‘Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; those who draw near shall know my strength. The lawless in Zion have departed; trembling shall seize the ungodly. Who shall declare to you the eternal place? He who walks in righteousness, speaking the straight way, hating lawlessness and injustice, and keeping his hands clean from bribes, stopping his ears so as not to hear an unjust judgment of blood, shutting his eyes so as not to see injustice—this one shall dwell in the high cave of a strong rock.

Ἄρτος δοθήσεται αὐτῷ, καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ αὐτοῦ πιστόν. Βασιλέα μετὰ δόξης ὄψεσθε, καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ὄψονται πόρρωθεν.Ἡ ψυχὴ ὑμῶν μελετήσει φόβον κυρίου. Ποῦ ἔστιν ὁ γραμματικός; Ποῦ εἰσιν οἱ βουλεύοντες; Ποῦ ἔστιν ὁ ἀριθμῶν τοὺς τρεφομένους, μικρὸν καὶ μέγαν λαόν; Ὧι οὐ συνεβουλεύσαντο, οὐδὲ ᾔδεισαν βάθη φωνῶν, ὥστε μὴ ἀκοῦσαι· λαὸς πεφαυλισμένος, καὶ οὐκ ἔστι τῷ ἀκούοντι σύνεσις

Bread shall be given to him, and his water is sure. You shall see a king with glory, and your eyes shall behold from afar. Your soul shall meditate on the fear of the Lord. Where is the scribe? Where are they that take counsel? Where is he that numbers those who are nourished, the small and the great people? With whom they did not take counsel, nor did they know the depths of voices, so that they could not hear: a people brought to nothing, and there is no understanding in him that hears.’

必有糧食賜給他，他的水也必有保障。你必看見一位帶著榮耀的王，你們的眼睛必望見遠處。你們的心靈要默想對主的敬畏。文士在哪裡呢？籌劃的人在哪裡呢？那數點受撫養之民、無論小民大民的人在哪裡呢？他們未曾與之商議，也不知道言語的深奧，以致聽不見：這是被藐視的百姓，聽見的人毫無悟性。』

Ὅτι μὲν οὖν καὶ λέγει ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ προφητείᾳ περὶ τοῦ ἄρτου, ὅν παρέδωκεν ἡμῖν ὁ ἡμέτερος Χριστὸς ποιεῖν εἰς ἀνάμνησιν τοῦ σεσωματοποιῆσθαι αὐτὸν διὰ τοὺς πιστεύοντας εἰς αὐτόν, δι οὓς καὶ παθητὸς γέγονε, καὶ περὶ τοῦ ποτηρίου, ὃ εἰς ἀνάμνησιν τοῦ αἵματος αὐτοῦ παρέδωκεν εὐχαριστοῦντας ποιεῖν, φαίνεται. Καὶ ὅτι βασιλέα τοῦτον αὐτὸν μετὰ δόξης ὀψόμεθα. αὕτη ἡ προφητεία δηλοῖ

Now that it indeed also speaks in this prophecy concerning the bread which our Christ delivered to us to make in remembrance of his having taken a body for the sake of those who believe in him—for whose sake also he became subject to suffering—and concerning the cup, which he delivered to be made in remembrance of his blood with thanksgiving, is evident. And that we shall behold this same one as a king with glory—this prophecy makes clear.

Καὶ ὅτι λαός, ὁ εἰς αὐτὸν πιστεύειν προεγνωσμένος, μελετήσειν φόβον κυρίου προέγνωστο, αὗται αἱ λέξεις τῆς προφητείας βοῶσι. Καὶ ὅτι οἱ τὰ γράμματα τῶν γραφῶν ἐπίστασθαι λογιζόμενοι, καὶ ἀκούοντες τῶν προφητειῶν, οὐκ ἔχουσι σύνεσιν, ὁμοίως αὗται αἱ γραφαὶ κεκράγασιν. Ὅταν δέ, ὦ Τρύφων, ἔφην, ἐκ παρθένου γεγεννῆσθαι τὸν Περσέα ἀκούσω, καὶ τοῦτο μιμήσασθαι τὸν πλάνον ὄφιν συνίημι

And that the people foreknown to believe in him were foreknown to meditate on the fear of the Lord—these very words of the prophecy proclaim. And that those who reckon themselves to know the letters of the Scriptures, and who hear the prophecies, have no understanding—these Scriptures likewise cry out. And when, O Trypho, I said, I hear that Perseus was born of a virgin, I understand that the deceiving serpent imitated this too.
