But if so great a power is shown to have followed and to follow upon the dispensation of His suffering, how great will be the power at His glorious coming? For He shall come as the Son of Man upon the clouds, as Daniel declared, with the angels arriving together with Him.
These are the words: I beheld until thrones were set, and the Ancient of Days sat, having a garment white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool; His throne was like a flame of fire, its wheels burning fire. A river of fire flowed forth, coming out from before Him; thousand thousands ministered to Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The books were opened, and the court sat in judgment.
I beheld then the sound of the great words which the horn was speaking, and the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given over to the burning of fire; and the rest of the beasts were removed from their dominion, and a length of life was given to the beasts until a season and a time. I beheld in a vision of the night, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a Son of Man; and He came as far as the Ancient of Days, and was brought before Him, and those standing by presented Him to Him.
And there was given to Him authority and royal honour, and all the nations of the earth according to their kinds, and all glory, serving Him; and His authority is an everlasting authority, which shall never be taken away, and His kingdom shall never be destroyed. And my spirit shuddered within my frame, and the visions of my head troubled me. And I drew near to one of those who stood by, and sought from him the exact meaning concerning all these things. And answering, he spoke to me and made known to me the interpretation of the words: These great beasts are four kingdoms, which shall perish from the earth, and shall not receive the kingdom unto the age and unto the age of ages.
Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which devoured all things and was exceedingly terrible, whose teeth were of iron and whose claws were of bronze, devouring and crushing in pieces, and trampling its remnant under its feet; and concerning its ten horns on its head, and the other horn that grew up, before which three of the former horns fell out, that horn which had eyes and a mouth speaking great things, and whose appearance was greater than the rest. And I beheld that horn making war against the saints and prevailing over them, until the Ancient of Days came and gave judgment to the saints of the Most High, and the appointed time came, and the saints of the Most High took possession of the kingdom.
And it was told me concerning the fourth beast: There shall be a fourth kingdom upon the earth, which shall surpass all these kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and lay it waste, and grind it down. And the ten horns are ten kings who shall arise; and another shall arise after them, and he shall surpass the former ones in evil, and shall humble three kings, and shall speak words against the Most High, and shall overthrow other saints of the Most High, and shall presume to change the seasons and times; and it shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
And the judgment was set, and they shall remove his dominion, to consume and destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and the authority and the greatness of the kingdoms of the regions under heaven were given to the holy people of the Most High, to reign with an everlasting kingdom; and all powers shall be subject to him and obey him. Thus far is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was greatly held in amazement, and my countenance was changed in me; yet I kept the word in my heart.
