3-63:1
And Trypho said: "This has been shown to you strongly and through many proofs, friend. It remains, then, that you also demonstrate that this One submitted, according to the will of His Father, to be born a man through the virgin, and to be crucified and to die; and show too that after these things He rose again and ascended into heaven."
3-63:2
And I answered: "This too has already been demonstrated by me, O men, in the words of the prophecies previously related, which—for your sakes—I will again recall and expound, and will try to bring you to agreement concerning this. The very word which Isaiah spoke—'Who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth'—does it not seem to you to have been said about One who does not have His race from men, of whom it was said by God that He was delivered to death for the iniquities of the people? Concerning whom Moses also, as I said before, speaking in a parable of the blood as the blood of the grape, said that He would wash His robe—as of One whose blood was begotten not from human seed but from the will of God."
3-63:3
"And the words spoken by David: 'In the splendors of Your holy ones, from the womb before the morning star I have begotten You. The Lord swore and will not repent: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek'—does this not signify to you that God, the Father of all, was about to beget Him from above and through a human womb?"
3-63:4
"And in other passages, these also having been previously quoted, he said: 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions. Myrrh and stacte and cassia from Your garments, from the ivory palaces, out of which they have made You glad. Daughters of kings are in Your honor; the queen stood at Your right hand, clothed in garments of gold interwoven, embroidered. Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house; and the King will desire your beauty, for He is your Lord, and you shall worship Him.'"
3-63:5
"That He is indeed worthy of worship, and is God, and is Christ, being attested by the One who made these things—these words too plainly signify. And that to those who believe in Him, as being one soul and one synagogue and one church, the Word of God speaks as to a daughter—to the church which has come into being from His name and partakes of His name (for we are all called Christians)—the words likewise plainly proclaim, teaching us also to forget the ancient ancestral customs, reading thus: 'Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house; and the King will desire your beauty, for He is your Lord, and you shall worship Him.'"
