3-72:1

Κἀγὼ εἶπον· Ὡς ὑμῖν φίλον, πράξω. Ἀπὸ μὲν οὖν τῶν ἐξηγήσεων, ὧν ἐξηγήσατο Ἔσδρας εἰς τὸν νόμον τὸν περὶ τοῦ πάσχα, τὴν ἐξήγησιν ταύτην ἀφείλοντο· Καὶ εἶπεν Ἔσδρας τῷ λαῷ· Τοῦτο τὸ πάσχα ὁ σωτὴρ ἡμῶν καὶ ἡ καταφυγὴ ἡμῶν. Καὶ ἐὰν διανοηθῆτε καὶ ἀναβῇ ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τὴν καρδίαν, ὅτι μέλλομεν αὐτὸν ταπεινοῦν ἐν σημείῳ, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐλπίσωμεν ἐπ αὐτόν, οὐ μὴ ἐρημωθῇ ὁ τόπος οὗτος εἰς τὸν ἅπαντα χρόνον, λέγει ὁ θεὸς τῶν δυνάμεων· ἂν δὲ μὴ πιστεύσητε αὐτῷ μηδὲ εἰσακούσητε τοῦ κηρύγματος αὐτοῦ. ἔσεσθε ἐπίχαρμα τοῖς ἔθνεσι

我說：既合你們的心意，我就照辦。如今，從以斯拉就那關於逾越節的律法所作的講解中，他們刪去了這段講解：『以斯拉對百姓說：這逾越節是我們的救主、我們的避難所。你們若思想，並且心裡明白我們將要在一個記號上使他受屈辱，此後又仰望他，這地方就不致永遠荒涼，萬軍之神如此說；但你們若不信他，也不聽從他的宣告，就必成為列國的笑柄。』

And I said: As is agreeable to you, I will do so. Now from the expositions which Ezra expounded upon the law concerning the Passover, they took away this exposition: ‘And Ezra said to the people: This Passover is our Savior and our refuge. And if you consider, and it comes up into your heart, that we are about to humble him upon a sign, and afterward hope in him, this place shall not be made desolate for all time, says the God of hosts; but if you do not believe in him, nor hearken to his proclamation, you shall be a derision to the nations.’

3-72:2

Καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν διὰ Ἱερεμίου λεχθέντων ταῦτα περιέκοψαν· Ἐγὼ ὡς ἀρνίον ἄκακον. φερόμενον τοῦ θύεσθαι. Ἐπ ἐμὲ ἐλογίζοντο λογισμόν, λέγοντες· Δεῦτε, ἐμβάλωμεν ξύλον εἰς τὸν ἄρτον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκτρίψωμεν αὐτὸν ἐκ γῆς ζώντων, καὶ τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ μνησθῇ οὐκέτι

And from what was spoken through Jeremiah they cut out these things: ‘I was like an innocent lamb led to be slaughtered. Against me they devised a device, saying: Come, let us cast wood into his bread, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, and let his name be remembered no more.’

3-72:3

Καὶ ἐπειδὴ αὕτηή περικοπή, ἡ ἐκ τῶν λόγων τοῦ Ἱερεμίου, ἔτι ἐστὶν ἐγγεγραμμένη ἔν τισιν ἀντιγράφοις τῶν ἐν συναγωγαῖς Ἰουδαίων (πρὸ γὰρ ὀλίγου χρόνου ταῦτα ἐξέκοψαν), ἐπειδὰν καὶ ἐκ τούτων τῶν λόγων ἀποδεικνύηται ὅτι ἐβουλεύσαντο Ἰουδαῖοι περὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἀναιρεῖν αὐτὸν σταυρώσαντες βουλευσάμενοι, καὶ αὐτὸς μηνύεται, ὡς καὶ διὰ τοῦ Ἡσαΐου προεφητεύθη, ὡς πρόβατον ἐπὶ σφαγὴν ἀγόμενος, καὶ ἐνθάδε ὡς ἀρνίον ἄκακον δηλοῦται· ὥστ ἀπορούμενοι ἐπὶ τὸ βλασφημεῖν χωροῦσι

And since this passage from the words of Jeremiah is still written in some copies in the synagogues of the Jews (for they cut these out only a short time ago), and since from these words too it is demonstrated that the Jews took counsel concerning the Christ himself, planning to do away with him by crucifying him, and he himself is disclosed—just as he was also foretold through Isaiah as being led like a sheep to the slaughter, and here too is shown as an innocent lamb—so that, being at a loss, they resort to blasphemy.

3-72:4

Καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν λόγων τοῦ αὐτοῦ Ἱερεμίου ὁμοίως ταῦτα περιέκοψαν· Ἐμνήσθη δὲ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἅγιος Ἰσραὴλ τῶν νεκρῶν αὐτοῦ, τῶν κεκοιμημένων εἰς γῆν χώματος, καὶ κατέβη πρὸς αὐτοὺς εὐαγγελίσασθαι αὐτοῖς τὸ σωτήριον αὐτοῦ

並且，從這同一位耶利米的話中，他們同樣割掉了這些話：『主神，以色列的聖者，記念了祂那些死去的人，就是那些長眠於墳墓塵土中的人，並下到他們那裡，向他們傳揚祂的救恩。』

And from the words of the same Jeremiah they likewise cut out these things: ‘The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, remembered His dead, those who had fallen asleep in the earth of the grave, and He went down to them to preach to them His salvation.’
