3-34:1
"Furthermore, in order to persuade you that you have understood nothing of the Scriptures, I will also recall another psalm spoken to David by the Holy Spirit, which you say was spoken concerning Solomon, who himself also became your king; but it too was spoken concerning our Christ. Yet you deceive yourselves by the homonymous expressions. For where 'the law of the Lord is blameless' is said, you interpret it not of the law that was to come after that one, but of the one given through Moses—though God cries out that he will establish a new law and a new covenant."
3-34:2
"And where it is said, 'O God, give your judgment to the king,' since there came to be a king Solomon, you assert that the psalm was spoken concerning him—though the words of the psalm proclaim distinctly that it was spoken concerning the eternal king, that is, concerning the Christ. For the Christ has been proclaimed as king and priest and God and Lord and angel and man and commander-in-chief and stone and a child born, and as having first become subject to suffering, then ascending into heaven, and again coming with glory and possessing the eternal kingdom—as I prove from all the Scriptures."
3-34:3
"And so that you may understand what I have said, I will recite the words of the psalm. They are these: 'O God, give your judgment to the king, and your righteousness to the king's son, to judge your people in righteousness and your poor in justice. Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills righteousness. He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the needy, and he shall humble the slanderer; and he shall continue as long as the sun, and before the moon, from generation to generation. He shall come down like rain upon a fleece, and like drops that fall upon the earth.'"
3-34:4
"'In his days righteousness shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon be taken away. And he shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the rivers to the ends of the inhabited world. Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down, and his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and the islands shall bring gifts; the kings of the Arabians and of Sheba shall bring gifts. And all the kings of the earth shall worship him, and all the nations shall serve him; because he delivered the poor from the mighty, and the needy who had no helper.'"
3-34:5
"'He shall spare the poor and needy, and he shall save the souls of the needy; he shall redeem their souls from usury and from injustice, and their name shall be honored in his sight. And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, and they shall pray for him continually; all the day long they shall bless him. And there shall be a support in the land, on the tops of the mountains it shall be exalted; its fruit shall be above Lebanon, and they shall blossom forth from the city like the grass of the earth.'"
3-34:6
"'His name shall be blessed forever; his name shall endure before the sun. And in him all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed; all the nations shall call him blessed. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things; and blessed be his glorious name forever, and unto the ages of ages; and all the earth shall be filled with his glory. Amen and amen.' And at the end of this psalm of which I spoke, it is written: 'The hymns of David, son of Jesse, are ended.'"
3-34:7
"And I know that Solomon was a renowned and great king, under whom was built the house that is called by his name in Jerusalem. But it is evident that none of the things said in the psalm came to pass concerning him. For neither did all the kings worship him, nor did he reign to the ends of the inhabited world, nor did his enemies fall down before him and lick the dust."
3-34:8
"But I even dare to say what is written in the Books of Kingdoms as having been done by him: that on account of a woman in Sidon he committed idolatry; which those from among the nations, having come through the crucified Jesus to know God the Maker of all things, do not consent to do, but endure every torture and punishment, even to the uttermost death, rather than commit idolatry or eat things sacrificed to idols."
