MARC. XII, 41-44; Luc. XXI, 1-4. Respiciens autem vidit eos qui mittebant muncra sua in gazophylacium divites. Vidit autem et quamdam viduam pauperculam, mittentem æra minuta duo, quod est quadrans. Et convocans discipulos SUOS, ait illis: Vere dico vobis, quia vidua hæc pauper plus quam omnes misit. Nam omnes hi ex abundanti sibi miserunt in munera Dei: haec autem ex eo quod deest illi, totum victum suum quem babuit misit. — Luc. XVIII, 9-14. Dixit autem ad quosdam qui in se confidebant tanquam justi, et aspernabantur caeteros, parabolam istam. Duo homines ascenderunt in templum ut orarent: unu Pharisæus, et alter publicanus. Pharisæus stans, hæc apud se orabat:
(Mark 12:41-44; Luke 21:1-4) And looking on, he saw the rich men that cast their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in two brass mites, which is a farthing. And he said: Verily I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all; for all these have of their abundance cast into the offerings of God; but she of her want hath cast in all the living that she had. (Luke 18:9-14) And to some who trusted in themselves as just, and despised others, he spoke also this parable. Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee standing, prayed thus with himself:

Deus, gratias ago tibi, quia non sum sicut cæteri hominum, raptores, injusti, adulteri, velut etiam hic publicanus. Jejuno bis in sabbato, decimas do omnium quae possideo. Et publicanus a longe stans, nolebat nec oculum * levare, sed percutiebat pectus suum, dicens: Deus, propitius esto mihi peccatori. Dico vobis: descendit hic justificatas in domum suam ab illo; quia omnia qui se exaltat humiliabitur, et qui se humiliat exaltabitur. — MATTH. XXI, 17, MARC. XI, ii. Et relictis illis, cum jam vespera esset hora, abiit foras extra civitatem in Bethaniam, ibique mansit.—Luc. IX, 11. Etsciens turba quodexiit extra civitatem, secuti sunt cum.
O God, I give thee thanks that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, as also is this publican. I fast twice in a week; I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O God, be merciful to me a sinner. I say to you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; because every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Matt. 21:17; Mark 11:11) And leaving them, when it was now eventide, he went out of the city into Bethania, and remained there. (Luke 9:11) And the people knowing it that he was gone out of the city, followed him.
神啊，我感謝你，我不像別人勒索、不義、姦淫，也不像這個稅吏。我一個禮拜禁食兩次，凡我所得的都捐上十分之一。那稅吏遠遠地站著，連舉目望天也不敢，只捶著胸說：神啊，開恩可憐我這個罪人！我告訴你們，這人回家去比那人倒算為義了；因為凡自高的，必降為卑；自卑的，必升為高。（太21:17；可11:11）耶穌離開他們，天已晚了，就出城往伯大尼去，在那裡住宿。（路9:11）眾人知道耶穌出了城，就跟著他。

Et suscipiens eos quibus necessaria erat cura, sanabat.
And receiving them, he healed those who had need of cure.
耶穌接待他們，凡需要醫治的，他就醫治。
