MATTH. VII, 15-20; Luc. vi, 43-45. Attendite a falsis prophetis, qui veniunt ad vos in vestimentis ovium, intrinsecus autem sunt lupi rapaces: a fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos. Nunquid colligunt de spinis uvas, aut de tribulis ficus? Sic omnis arbor bona fructus bonos facit: mala autem arbor fructus malos facit. Non potest arbor bona fructus malos facere, neque arbor mala fructus bonos facere. Bonus homo de bono thesauro cordis sui profert bona; et malus homo de malo thesauro profert mala: ex abundantia enim cordis os loquitur. Omnis arbor quae non facit fructum bonum, exscindetur et in ignem mittetur. Igitur et ex fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos.
(Matt. 7:15-20; Luke 6:43-45) Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves: by their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil; for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.
（太7:15-20；路6:43-45）你們要防備假先知，他們到你們這裡來，外面披著羊皮，裡面卻是殘暴的狼：憑著他們的果子，就可以認出他們來。荊棘上豈能摘葡萄呢？蒺藜裡豈能摘無花果呢？這樣，凡好樹都結好果子，惟獨壞樹結壞果子。好樹不能結壞果子，壞樹不能結好果子。善人從他心裡所存的善就發出善來；惡人從他心裡所存的惡就發出惡來；因為心裡所充滿的，口裡就說出來。凡不結好果子的樹，就砍下來丟在火裡。所以憑著他們的果子，就可以認出他們來。
