46:1
LUC. XI, 5-13. Quis vestrum habebit amicum,et ibit ad illum media nocte, et dicet: Amice, commoda mihi tres panes, quoniam amicus meus venit ad me de via, et non habeo quod ponam ante illum. Et ille de intus respondens, dicat: Noli mihi moleitus esse; jam ostium clausum est, et pucri mei mecum sunt in cubiii; non possum surgere et dare tibi. Et ille si perseveraverit pulgans, dico vobis, et si non dabit illi surgens eo quod amicus ejus sit, propter improbitatem tamen ejus surget, et dabit illi quotquot habet necessarios. Ego dico vobis: — MATTH. VII, 7 - 14, Petite, et accipietis; quaerite, et invenietis; pulsate, ct aperietur vobis. Omnis enim qui petit, accipit; et qui quaerit, invenit;
(Luke 11:5-13) Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and shall say to him: 'Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine is come off his journey to me, and I have not what to set before him'; and he from within should answer and say: 'Trouble me not; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.' Yet if he shall continue knocking, I say to you, although he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say to you: (Matt. 7:7-14) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
(路11:5-13)你們中間誰有一個朋友半夜到他那裡去,說:「朋友,請借給我三個餅,因為我有一個朋友行路來到我這裡,我沒有甚麼給他擺上。」那人在裡面回答說:「不要攪擾我,門已經關閉,孩子們也同我在床上了,我不能起來給你。」我告訴你們,雖不因他是朋友起來給他,但因他情詞迫切地直求,就必起來照他所需用的給他。(太7:7-14)我又告訴你們,你們祈求,就給你們;尋找,就尋見;叩門,就給你們開門。因為凡祈求的,就得著;尋找的,就尋見;
46:2
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there among you, of whom if his son shall ask bread, will he reach him a stone? Or if he shall ask him a fish, will he reach him a serpent? Or if he ask an egg, will he reach him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? All things therefore whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you also to them; for this is the law and the prophets. (Luke 13:24) Enter ye in at the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
46:3
et pauci sunt qui inveniunt eam!
and few there are that find it!
