50:1
MATTH. a, 36.
Matthew 9:36. And seeing the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and lying down like sheep without a shepherd. — Matthew 10:1, 5ff.; Mark 6:7-11; Luke 9:2-12. And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every infirmity. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and said to them: Take nothing for the journey. Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter the cities of the Samaritans; but rather go to the sheep of the house of Israel that are lost. And as you go, preach, saying that the kingdom of heaven has drawn near; heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons:
50:2
gratis accepistis, gratis date. — MATTH. X, 12-33. Intrantes autern in domum I salutate cam, dicentes: Pax huic domui.
You received without cost, give without cost. Do not provide gold, nor silver, nor money in your belts, no bag for the journey, nor bread, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor a staff: for the laborer is worthy of his hire and of his food. Into whatever city or village you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there remain until you depart, eating and drinking what is set before you, and heal the sick who are in it. And do not pass from house to house. — Matthew 10:12-13. As you enter the house, greet it, saying: Peace to this house. And if indeed the house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you.
— Lue. XII, 11-12.
And whoever does not receive you, nor hear your words, when you go out of that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city. — Luke 10:3. Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be therefore wise as serpents and innocent as doves. But beware of men. For they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as a testimony against them and to the Gentiles. — Luke 12:11-12.
— LUC. VI, 40.
And when they deliver you up to the synagogues, and to the magistrates and authorities, do not be anxious how or what you shall answer, or what you shall say: for it shall be given you in that hour what you shall speak. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Brother shall deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children shall rise up against their parents and put them to death; and you shall be hated by all for my name's sake. But he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved. And when they persecute you in this city, flee into another. Truly I say to you, you shall not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. — Luke 6:40.
The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household? Therefore do not fear them. — Mark 4:22. For there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed, and nothing secret that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops. — Luke 12:2-9. But I say to you, my friends: Do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill my soul; rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Nolite ergo timere: multis passeribus meliores estis vos. — MATTH. X, 51-42. Nolile arbitrari quia venerim mittere pacem in terram:
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them shall fall to the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear: you are of more value than many sparrows. Therefore everyone who confesses me before men, I also will confess him before my Father who is in heaven, and before his angels. But whoever denies me before men — Mark 8:38 — and is ashamed of me in this adulterous and sinful generation, him I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven, and his angels. And the Son of Man will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with his angels. — Matthew 10:34-42. Do not think that I have come to send peace upon the earth:
50:7
non veni pacem miltere, sed gladium. — Luc. XII, 52. Erunt enim ex hoc quinque in domo una divisi; tres in duo, et duo in tres dividentur. Veni enim separare hominem adversus patrem suum, et filiam adversus matrem suam, et nurum adversus socrum suam, et inimici hominis domestici rjus. Qui amat patrem et matrem plus quam me, non est me dignus; et qui amat filium aut filiam super me, non est me dignus. — LUC. xiv, 26-27. Et qui non accipit crucem suam, ct sequitur me, non est me dignus, nec potest meus esse discipulus. — MARC. VIII, 34-35. Qui invenit animam suam, perdet eam, et qui perdiderit animam suam propter me, inveniet cam. Et qui recipit vos, me recipit;
I did not come to send peace, but a sword. — Luke 12:52. For from now on there shall be five in one house divided: three against two, and two against three shall be divided. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's foes shall be those of his own household. He who loves father and mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. — Luke 14:26-27. And he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me, nor can he be my disciple. — Mark 8:34-35. He who finds his life shall lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake shall find it. And he who receives you receives me;
我來並不是叫地上太平,乃是叫地上動刀兵。——路加福音十二章52節。從今以後,一家五個人將要分爭:三個人和兩個人相爭,兩個人和三個人相爭。因為我來是叫人與父親生疏,女兒與母親生疏,媳婦與婆婆生疏;人的仇敵就是自己家裡的人。愛父母過於愛我的,不配作我的門徒;愛兒女過於愛我的,不配作我的門徒。——路加福音十四章26至27節。不背著自己十字架跟從我的,也不配作我的門徒,不能作我的門徒。——馬可福音八章34至35節。得著生命的,將要失喪生命;為我失喪生命的,將要得著生命。接待你們的,就是接待我;
50:8
et qui recipit me, recipit eum qui misit me. Qui recipit prophetam in nomine prophetae, mercedem prophetae accipiet; et qui recipit justum in nomine jusli, mercedem justi accipiet. — MARC. IX, 40. Et quicunque potum dederit uni ex minimis istis calicem aquæ frigidae tantum in nomine discipuli, quia Christi estis: amen dico vobis, non perdet mercedem suam. MATTH. XI, 1.
and he who receives me receives him who sent me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. — Mark 9:41. And whoever gives to one of these little ones only a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, because you are Christ's: truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. Matthew 11:1. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he passed on from there to teach and preach in their cities. — Mark 6:12-13. And the disciples, going out, preached that men should repent, and cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and they were healed.
