101:1
MARC. IX, 37-39; LUC. IX, 49, 50. — MATT. XVIII, 7-9; MARC. IX, 41-48; Luc. X'II, i, 2.
(Mark ix, 37-39; Luke ix, 49, 50.) And John answering said: Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not with us, and we forbade him. But Jesus said: Forbid him not; for there is no man that doth a miracle in my name and can soon speak ill of me. For he that is not against you is for you. (Matt. xviii, 7-9; Mark ix, 41-48; Luke xvii, 1, 2.) Woe to the world because of scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come; nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh. And if thy hand or thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee.
101:2
It is better for thee to enter into life maimed or lame, than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire, where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished. For every man shall be salted with fire, and every victim shall be salted.
