MATTH. VIII, 23-27; MARC. IV, 37-40; Luc. VIII, 2225. Et ascendente eo in naviculam, secuti sunt cum discipuli ejus. Et ecce motus magnus factus est in mari, ita ut navicula operiretur fluctibus: ipse vero erat in puppi supra cervical dormiens. Et accesserunt, et suscitaverunt eum, dicentes: Domine, salva nos, quia perimus. Et dicit eis: Quid timidi estis, modicæ fidei? Tunc surgens imperavit ventis et mari, et cessavit ventus. Et dixit: Tace, obmutesce. Et facta est tranquillitas magna. Porro homines mirati sunt dicentes: Quis aut qualis est hic? quia et ventis imperat et mari, et obediunt ei.
馬太福音八章23至27節；馬可福音四章37至40節；路加福音八章22至25節。耶穌上了船，門徒跟著他。海裡忽然起了暴風，甚至船被波浪掩蓋；耶穌卻在船尾，枕著枕頭睡覺。門徒來把他叫醒，說：主啊，救我們，我們喪命啦！耶穌說：你們這小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？於是起來，斥責風和海，風就止住了。他又說：住了吧，靜了吧！風就大大地平靜了。眾人希奇，說：這是怎樣的人？連風和海也聽從他了。
Matthew 8:23-27; Mark 4:37-40; Luke 8:22-25. And as he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves; but he himself was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. And they came and woke him, saying: Lord, save us, for we are perishing. And he said to them: Why are you afraid, O you of little faith? Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and the wind ceased. And he said: Be still, be silent. And there came a great calm. And the men marveled, saying: Who and what manner of man is this? For even the winds and the sea he commands, and they obey him.
