139:1
JOAN. IX, 35-41.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said to him: 'Do you believe in the Son of God?' He answered and said: 'Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?' And Jesus said to him: 'You have both seen him, and he it is who speaks with you.' He said: 'I believe, Lord.' And falling down, he worshipped him. Jesus said to him: 'For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.' And some of the Pharisees who were with him heard, and said to him: 'Are we also blind?' Jesus said to them: 'If you were blind, you would have no sin. But now, because you say, We see, your sin remains.' Amen I say to you:
139:2
Ego sum ostium. Per me si quis introierit (salvabitur):
He who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up another way, that man is a thief and a robber; but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he has sent forth his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But a stranger they will not follow, but flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers. This proverb Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. Jesus therefore said to them again: 'Amen, I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep. All, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he shall be saved.'
139:3
他必出入並且得草吃。賊來,無非要偷竊、殺害、毀壞;我來了,是要叫羊得生命,並且得的更豐盛。我是好牧人,好牧人為羊捨命。若是雇工,不是牧人,羊也不是他自己的,他看見狼來,就撇下羊逃走;狼抓住羊,把羊趕散了。雇工逃走,因他是雇工,並不顧念羊。我是好牧人,我認識我的羊,我的羊也認識我。正如父認識我,我也認識父一樣;並且我為羊捨命。我另外有羊,不是這圈裡的;我必須領牠們來,牠們也要聽我的聲音;
And he shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. But the hireling, who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf seizes and scatters the sheep. The hireling flees because he is a hireling, and has no concern for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know mine, and mine know me. As the Father knows me, so I also know the Father; and I lay down my life for my sheep. And other sheep I have that are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will hear my voice;
139:4
et fiet unum ovile, et unus pastor. Propterea me Pater diligit: quia ego pono animam mcam (ut iterum sumam eam). Nemo tollit eam a me, sed ego pono eam a me ipso. * Potestatem habeo ponendi eam, et potestatem babeo iterum sumendi eam. Hoc mandatum accepi a Patre meo.
And there shall be one fold and one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again. This commandment I have received from my Father. There arose again a division among the Jews because of these words. And many of them said: 'He has a demon, and is mad; why do you listen to him?' Others said: 'These are not the words of one who has a demon; can a demon open the eyes of the blind?'
