Luc. II, 40-52. Puer autem crescebat et confortabatur, plenus sapientia; et gratia Dei erat in illo. Et ibant parentes ejus per omnes annos in Hierusalem, in die solemni Paschæ. Et cum factus esset annorum duodecim, ascendeutibus illis Hierosolymam secundum consuetudinem diei festi, consummatisque diebus, cum redirent, remansit puer Jesus in Hierusalem: et non cognoverunt parentes ejus. Æstimantes autem illum esse in comitatu, venerunt iter diei. et requirebant eum inter cognatos et notos. Et non invenientes, regressi sunt in Hierusalem rcquirentes eum. Et factum est post triduum, invenerunt eum in templo, sedentem in medio doctorum, audientem illos et interrogantem eos.
路加福音二章40至52節。孩子漸漸長大，強健起來，充滿智慧，又有神的恩在他身上。每年到逾越節，他父母就上耶路撒冷去。當他十二歲的時候，他們按著節期的規矩上耶路撒冷去。守滿了節期，他們回去，孩童耶穌仍舊在耶路撒冷，他的父母並不知道，以為他在同行的人中間，走了一天的路程，就在親族和熟識的人中找他，既找不著，就回耶路撒冷去找他。過了三天，就遇見他在殿裡，坐在教師中間，一面聽，一面問。
Luke 2:40-52. And the child grew, and waxed strong, full of wisdom; and the grace of God was in him. And his parents went every year to Jerusalem, at the solemn day of the Pasch. And when he was twelve years old, they going up into Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast day, and having fulfilled the days, when they returned, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem; and his parents knew it not. And thinking that he was in the company, they came a day's journey, and sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions.

Stupebant autem omnes qui eum audiebam, super prudentia et responsis ejus. Et videntes admirati sunt. Et dixit mater ejus ad illum: Fili mi, quid fecisti nobis sic? Ecce pater tuus et ego, dolentes quærebamus te. Et ait ad illos: Quid est quod me quærebatis ? Nesciebatis quia in his quæ Patris mei sunt oportet me esse? Et ipsi non intellexerunt verbum quod locutus est ad illos. Et descendit cum eis, et venit Nazareth, et erat subdimus illis. Et mater ejus conservabat omnia verba hæc in corde suo. Et Jesus proficiebat sapientia, et aetate, et gratia apud Deum et homines.
凡聽見他的，都希奇他的聰明和他的應對。他父母看見就很希奇。他母親對他說：「我兒，為什麼向我們這樣行呢？看哪，你父親和我傷心來找你！」耶穌說：「為什麼找我呢？豈不知我應當以我父的事為念嗎？」他所說的這話，他們不明白。他就同他們下去，回到拿撒勒，並且順從他們。他母親把這一切的事都存在心裡。耶穌的智慧和身量，並神和人喜愛他的心，都一齊增長。
And all that heard him were astonished at his wisdom and his answers. And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father's business? And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept all these words in her heart. And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and grace with God and men.
