Ab arbore autem fici discite parabolam: cum jam ramus ejus tener fuerit, et folia nata, et omnes arbores cum jam ex se producunt fructum, scitis quoniam prope est æstas: ita et vos cum videritis hæc omnia fieri, scitote quia prope est in januis. Amen dico vobis: quia non praeteribit haec generatio, donec omnia haec fiant. Coelum et terra transibunt, verba vero mea non transibunt. Attendite autem vobis, ne forte graventur corda vestra in crapula, et ebrietate, et curis hujus vitae; et veniat super vos repentina dies illa. Tanquam laqueus enim superveniet in omnes qui sedent super faciem omnis terrae.

(Matt. 24:32-36; Mark 13:28-32; Luke 21:29-35) Now learn a parable from the fig tree: when the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, and all the trees now put forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh: so you also, when you shall see all these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly. For as a snare shall it come upon all that sit upon the face of the whole earth.

Vigilate itaque omni tempore, orantes, ut digni habeamini fugere ista omnia quae futura sunt, et stare ante Filium hominis. Nescitis enim quando tempus sit. Dc die autem illo et hora nemo scit: neque Filius, neque angeli in coelo, nisi solus Pater.
你們要時時警醒，常常祈求，使你們能逃避這一切要來的事，得以站立在人子面前。因為你們不知道那時候。但那日子、那時辰，沒有人知道，連天上的使者也不知道，子也不知道，惟有父知道。
Watch ye therefore, praying at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are to come, and to stand before the Son of man. For you know not when the time is. But of that day and hour no one knoweth, neither the Son, nor the angels in heaven, but the Father alone.
