MATTH. VI, 25-34; Luc. XII, 22-31. Ideo dixi vobis, ne solliciti sitis animæ vestrae, quid mandu. cetis, neque corpori vestro quid induamini. Nonne anima plus est quam esca, et corpus plus est quam vestimentum? Respicite volatilia coeli, quoniam non serunt, neque metunt, neque congregant in horrea; et Pater vester coelestis pascit illa. Nonne vos pluris estis illis? Quis autem vestrum cogitans, potest adjicere ad staturam suam cubitum unum? Si ergo neque quod minimum est potestis, quid de caeteris solliciti estis? Et de vestimento quid solliciti es is ? Considerate lilia agri, quomodo crescunt: non lab' rant, neque nent.
（太6:25-34；路12:22-31）所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮，吃甚麼，喝甚麼；也不要為身體憂慮，穿甚麼。生命不勝於飲食嗎？身體不勝於衣裳嗎？你們看那天上的飛鳥，也不種，也不收，也不積蓄在倉裡，你們的天父尚且養活牠們。你們不比飛鳥貴重得多嗎？你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢？這最小的事，你們尚且不能做，為甚麼還憂慮其餘的事呢？何必為衣裳憂慮呢？你想野地裡的百合花怎麼長起來：它也不勞苦，也不紡線。
(Matt. 6:25-34; Luke 12:22-31) Therefore I say to you, be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat, nor for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than the meat, and the body more than the raiment? Behold the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not you of much more value than they? And which of you by taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If then ye be not able to do so much as the least thing, why are you solicitous for the rest? And for raiment why are you solicitous? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they labour not, neither do they spin.

Dico autem vobis quoniam nec Salomon in omni gloria sua coopertus est sicut unum ex istis. Si autem fenum agri quod hodie est, et eras in clibanum miuitur, Deus sic vestit, quanto magis vos minimæ fidei? Nolite ergo solliciti esse, dicentes: Quid manducabimus, aut quid bibemus, aut quo operiemur? Hæc enim omnia gentes inquirunt. Scit enim Pater vester quia his omnibus indigetis. Quærite autem pi imum regnum Dei et justitiam ejus: et omnia haec adjicientur vobis. Nolite ergo solliciti esse in crastinum. Crastinus enim dies sollicitus erit sibi ipsi: sufficit diei malitia sua.
我告訴你們，就是所羅門極榮華的時候，他所穿戴的還不如這花一朵呢。你們這小信的人哪，野地裡的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐裡，神還給它這樣的妝飾，何況你們呢！所以，不要憂慮說：吃甚麼？喝甚麼？穿甚麼？這都是外邦人所求的。你們的父知道你們需用這一切東西。你們要先求神的國和他的義，這些東西都要加給你們了。所以，不要為明天憂慮，因為明天自有明天的憂慮；一天的難處一天當就夠了。
But I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these. And if the grass of the field, which is to-day, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, God doth so clothe, how much more you, O ye of little faith? Be not solicitous therefore, saying: What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the heathens seek. For your Father knoweth that you have need of all these things. Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God and his justice; and all these things shall be added unto you. Be not therefore solicitous for to-morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.
