Luc. IX, 51-56. Factum est autem dum complerentur des assumptionis ejus, et ipse faciem suam firmavit, ut iret Hierusalem. Et misit * nuntium ante conspectum suum. Et euntes intraverunt in civitatem Samaritanorum, ut pararent illi. Et non receperunt eum, quia facies ejus erat euntis Hierusalem. Cum vidissent autem disc puli ejus, Jacobus et Joannes, dixerunt: Domine, vis dicimus ut ignis descendat de coelo, et consumat ilos ? Et conversus increpavit illos, dicens: Nesciiis cujus spiritus estis. Filius hominis non venit animas perdere, sed salvare. Et abicrunt in aliud castellum.

LUKE IX, 51-56. Now it came to pass, while the days of his being taken up were being fulfilled, that he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent a messenger before his face. And going, they entered into a city of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was that of one going to Jerusalem. When his disciples James and John saw this, they said: 'Lord, do you wish that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?' And turning, he rebuked them, saying: 'You do not know of what spirit you are. The Son of Man did not come to destroy souls, but to save them.' And they went on to another town.
