186:1
JOAN. XXI, 15-25. Cum ergo prandissent, dicit Simoni Petro Jesus: Simon Joannis, diligis me plus his? Dicit ei: Eliam, Domine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei: Pasce agnos meos. Dicit ei iterum: Simon Joannis, diligis me? Ait illi: Etiam, Domine, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei: Pasce agnos meos. Dicit ci tertio: Simon Joannis, amas me? Contrastatus est Petrus, quia dixit ei tertio, Amas me? Et dicit ei: Domine, tu omnia scis, tu scis quia amo te. Dicit ei * Pasce oves meas. Amen, amen, dico tibi, cum esses junior, cingebas te, et ambulabas ubi volebas: cum autem senueris, extendes manus tuas, et alius te singet, et docet quo tu non vis.
（約二一15-25）他們吃完了早飯，耶穌對西門彼得說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深麼？彼得說，主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。耶穌對他說，你餧養我的小羊。耶穌第二次又對他說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我麼？彼得說，主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。耶穌說，你牧養我的羊。第三次對他說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我麼？彼得因為耶穌第三次對他說，你愛我麼，就憂愁，對耶穌說，主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。耶穌說，你餧養我的羊。我實實在在的告訴你，你年少的時候，自己束上帶子，隨意往來；但年老的時候，你要伸出手來，別人要把你束上，帶你到不願意去的地方。
(John 21:15-25) When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. He saith to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he had said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my sheep. Amen, amen, I say to thee, when thou wast younger, thou didst gird thyself, and didst walk where thou wouldst; but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and lead thee whither thou wouldst not.

Hoc autem dixit, significans qua morte clarificaturus esset Deum. Et cum hoc dixisset, dixit ei: Sequere me. Conversus Petrus. vidit illum discipulum quem diligebat Jesus, sequentem, qui et recubuit in cœna super pectus ejus, et dixit: Domine, quis est qui tradet te? Hunc ergo cum vidisset Petrus, dicit Jesu: Domine, hic autem quid ? Dicit ei Jesus: * Si eum volo manere donec vcniam, quid ad te? Tu me sequere. Exiit ergo sermo iste inter fratres, quia discipulus ille non moritur. Et non dixit ei Jesus, Non moritur: sed, Si eum volo manere donec veniam, quid ad tc? Hic est discipulus * qui testimonium * perhibuit de his, et scripsit hæc: et scimus quia verum est testimonium ejus.
耶穌說這話，是指著彼得要怎樣終了以榮耀神。說了這話，就對他說，你跟從我吧。彼得轉過身來，看見耶穌所愛的那門徒跟著，就是在晚飯的時候，靠著耶穌胸膛，說，主啊，賣你的是誰的那門徒。彼得看見他，就問耶穌說，主啊，這人將來如何？耶穌對他說，我若要他等到我來的時候，與你何干？你跟從我吧。於是這話傳在弟兄中間，說那門徒不死。其實耶穌不是說他不死，乃是說，我若要他等到我來的時候，與你何干？為這些事作見證，並且記載這些事的，就是這門徒；我們也知道他的見證是真的。
Now this he said, signifying by what manner of end he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me. Peter turning about, saw that disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said: Lord, who is he that shall betray thee? Him therefore when Peter had seen, he saith to Jesus: Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith to him: So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee? Follow thou me. This saying therefore went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not depart. And Jesus did not say to him: He should not depart; but, So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee? This is that disciple who giveth testimony of these things, and hath written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
186:3
Sunt autem et alia multa quæ fecit Jesus: quæ si scribantur per singula, nec ipsum arbitror mundum capere eos qui scribendi sunt libros.
耶穌所行的事，還有許多，若是一一的都寫出來，我想所寫的書，就是世界也容不下了。
And there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.
