Sicut cuidam nostrum nuper certum est contigisse, qui dum somnia vehementer attenderet, ei per somnium tonga spatia hujus vitæ promissa sunt. Cumque multas pecunias pro longioris vitae stipendiis collegisset, ita repente defunctus est, ut intactas omnes relinqueret, et ipse secum nibil ei bono opere portaret.
As it is certain to have lately befallen a certain one of our number, who, while he attended eagerly to dreams, was through a dream promised long spaces of this life. And when he had gathered much money for the provisioning of a longer life, he so suddenly died that he left it all untouched, and carried away with himself nothing of any good work.
正如我們當中某人近來確實遭遇之事：他因熱衷於留意夢兆，便藉一個夢得了此生長壽的許諾。當他為著更長壽命的供養積聚了許多錢財時，卻突然死去，以致把那一切原封不動地遺留下來，自己身上卻沒有帶走任何善工。
