Joannes, servus et actor domni Venantii, sanctuaria beati Severini confessoris, oblata petitione, suprascripto a domino suo,postulat debere concedi, quatenus in ejus nomine oratorium propriis constructunl sumptibus possit solemniter consecrari; et ideo, frater charissime, praefati desideriis ex nostra te praeceptione convenit obedire, ut devotionis suae in consecratione quam postulat potiatur eflectu b. Gregory to Paschasius, bishop of Naples. John, servant and steward of the lord Venantius, by an offered petition, at the request of his aforesaid lord, asks that leave be granted him, so that in his (that is, Saint Severinus') name an oratory built at his own expense may be solemnly consecrated in honour of the sanctuary of the blessed Severinus the confessor; and therefore, dearest brother, it befits you by our command to comply with the desires of the aforesaid, so that he may obtain the effect of his devotion in the consecration which he requests.
