Sed necesse est ut cum haec agimus, nosmetipsos Deo in cordis contritione mactenms, qnia qui passionis dominicæ mysteria celebramus, debcmus imitari quod agimus. Tunc ergo vere pro nobis hostia erit t Deo, cum nos ipsos hostiam fecerimus. Sed Itudendnm nobis est ut etiam post orationis tempora, ia quantum Deo largiente possummus, in ipso animum suo pondere et Vigore servemus; ne post cogitatio 473 fluxa dissulvat, ne vana Menti lætitia subrepat, et lucrum compunctionis anima per incuriam fluxæ cogitationis perdat. Sic quippe quud proposcerat Anna obtinere nleruit, quia post lacrymas in eodem mentis vigore permansit. De qua nimirum scriptum est:
But it is necessary that, when we do these things, we should immolate our very selves to God in contrition of heart; for we who celebrate the mysteries of the Lord's Passion ought to imitate what we perform. Then truly will there be for us a victim to God, when we shall have made ourselves a victim. But we must strive that, even after the times of prayer, insofar as God grants, we may keep the soul in its own weight and vigor; lest afterward a fluid thought dissolve it, lest a vain gladness creep upon the mind, and the soul lose the gain of compunction through the negligence of a wandering thought. For thus indeed Hannah merited to obtain what she had asked, because after her tears she remained in the same vigor of mind. Of her indeed it is written:
但必須的是，當我們行這些事時，要在心的痛悔中把我們自己獻給天主為祭；因為我們既慶祝主受難的奧秘，就當效法我們所行的。惟有當我們把自己作成祭物時，我們才真正成為獻給天主的犧牲。但我們必須努力，即使在祈禱的時刻之後，也要盡天主所賜的力量，把心神保持在它自身的重量與活力之中；免得日後浮動的思念使它渙散，免得虛妄的喜樂潛入心中，使靈魂因散漫思念的疏忽而失去痛悔所得的益處。哈拿正是如此，才配得所求的，因為她在流淚之後仍保持著同樣的心神活力。關於她確有記載說：

Vultusque ejus non sunt amplius in diversa mutati (1 Reg. I, 18). Quae igitur non est oblita quod petiit, uon est privata munere quod poposcit.'_;
'And her countenance was no more changed into diverse ways' (1 Samuel 1:18). She therefore who did not forget what she had petitioned, was not deprived of the gift she had begged.
「她的臉上不再有愁容改變」（撒母耳記上一章18節）。因此，她既沒有忘記自己所求的，也就沒有被剝奪她所懇求的恩賜。
