Postquam sic de gloriæ vestrae sinceritate præsumimus, ut v8stros vos credamus reputare qui nostri sunt, latori praesentium Petro, viro magnifico 1253 ad promereudum bonitatis vestrae gratiam hoc solum sufficere poterat, indicare quia noster est. Sed quoniam paterna commendatio boni filii mentem solet semper accendere, paterna dulcedine salutantes, petimus ut memorato filio nostro, atque memoratæ tiliae nostræ gloriosae matri ipsius, patrocinii vestri gratiam ostendatis, eosque et illic positos tuitionis vestræ remedio foveatis, et venientes ad nos vestri subsidiis adjuvetis, quatenus dum ea quæ gloria.

Since we so presume upon the sincerity of your glory, that we believe you reckon as your own those who are ours, to the bearer of the present letter, Peter, a magnificent man, this alone could suffice for meriting the favor of your goodness — to indicate that he is ours. But since a fatherly commendation is wont always to kindle the mind of a good son, greeting you with fatherly sweetness, we ask that you show to our said son, and to our said daughter his glorious mother, the grace of your patronage, and that you cherish them, placed there, with the remedy of your protection, and aid them with your supports when they come to us; so that, while your glory

vestra es se solet impendere, nostra benignius epistola interveniente, praestiterit, et ipsam rem consuetam videatur laudabiliter exhibere, et nos siM pro sua bonitate gratiarum esse rer omnia faciat debitores b.
shall have bestowed that which it is wont to bestow — our letter interceding the more kindly — it may both seem to exhibit laudably its accustomed deed, and may in all things make us debtors of thanks to it for its goodness.
