Gregorius Sebastiano episcopo a Rhisiniensi. Quamvis nulla merui beatitudinis vestrae scripta suscipere, tamen ego etiam obliscentum me non ohliYiscor, negligentem pulso, torpentem amoris stimulis inquieto, ut qui ex semetipso uon vult inpendere, vel pulsatus sciat reddere quod debet. Praeterea indico suggestionem me apud piissimos dominos summis precibus plenam fecisse, ut virum beatissimum domnum Anastasium patriarcham, b enncesso usu pallii, ad beati Petri apostolorum principis limina mecum celebraturum solemnia missarum transmittere debuissent; quatenus si ei ad sedem suaw minime reverli liceret, saltem mecum in honore suo viveret.
Gregory to Sebastian, Bishop of Risinum. Although I have merited to receive no writings of your Beatitude, yet I, forgetful even of the forgetful, do not forget; I knock at the negligent, I disquiet the torpid with the goads of love, so that he who of himself will not spend, may at least when knocked upon know to render what he owes. Moreover, I make known that I have made a suggestion, full of the highest entreaties, before the most pious lords, that they should have transmitted the most blessed lord Anastasius the patriarch, with the use of the pallium granted, to the thresholds of blessed Peter, prince of the apostles, to celebrate the solemnities of the masses with me; so that if it be by no means permitted him to return to his own see, he might at least live with me in his honour.

519 Sed quæ causa contigerit, ut eadem scripta retincren1, praesentium lator vobis innotescet. Ejusdem tamen domui Anastasii animum cognoscite, et quidquid ei de hac re pl acuerit, vestris Inibi epistolis iudicate.
But what cause has occurred, that they retained the same writings, the bearer of the present will make known to you. Yet learn the mind of the same lord Anastasius, and whatever concerning this matter shall please him, make known to me by your letters.
但發生了何等緣故，以致他們扣留了同一批書信，本函的持信人將告知你。然而你要探知同一位主、安納斯達修的心意，凡他在此事上所喜悅的，都藉你的書信告知我。
