Gregorius a Passivo episcopo Firmano. Allio comes castri Aprutiensis, Firmensis territorii, pctitoria nobis insinuationc suggessit, quæ habemur in subditis, in suprascripto castro oratorium se sumptu proprio pro sua devotione fundasse, quod in honorem beati Petri apostolorum principis desidcrat consecrari.
Gregory to Passivus, bishop of Fermo. Allio, count of the fortress of Aprutium, in the territory of Fermo, has suggested to us by a petitionary representation, which is contained in the following, that in the aforesaid fortress he has founded an oratory at his own expense, out of his devotion, which he desires to be consecrated in honour of blessed Peter, chief of the apostles.

Et ideo, frater charissime, si in tuae diœceseos, b in qua visitationis impendis officium, memorata constructio jure consistit, el nullum corpus ibidem 1188 constat humatum, percepta primitus donatione legitima, id est c fundos campulos cum conduma una, boves domitos parium unum, vaccas duas, argenti libras quatuor, lectum stratum unum, d in pccnlio capita quindecim, e æramenti capita duo, fe vramenta numero quinque, præsentes liberos a trihutis fiscalibus solidos sex, f gestisque municipalibus alligata, praedictum oratorium solemniter consecrabis.
And therefore, dearest brother, if the aforesaid construction stands by right within your diocese, in which you discharge the office of visitation, and it is certain that no body is buried there, then, a lawful endowment having first been received—that is, small fields of land with one farmstead, one yoke of broken oxen, two cows, four pounds of silver, one strewn bed, fifteen head in the herd, two head of bronze vessels, five implements, and, free from fiscal tributes, six solidi, and secured by municipal records—you shall solemnly consecrate the aforesaid oratory.
因此，至親愛的弟兄啊，前述的建築物若依法立於你所執行巡視職分的教區之內，並確知那裡未葬有屍體，那麼，先要領受合法的奉獻捐——即：連同一處農莊的幾小塊田地、一對已馴的耕牛、兩頭母牛、四磅銀、一張鋪好的床、牲群十五頭、兩件銅器、五件器具，並免於稅捐的六枚金幣，且以市政記錄予以確立——你就當隆重奉獻前述的祈禱所。

Presbyterum quoque te illic constituere volumus cardinalem, ut quoties praefatus conditor fier i s sibi missas fortasse voluerit, vel fidelium concursus exegerit, nihil sit quod ad missarum sacra exhibenda solemnia valeat impedire; sanctuaria vero suscepta sui cum reverentia collocabis.
We wish you also to establish there a cardinal presbyter, so that as often as the aforesaid founder should perchance wish Masses to be celebrated for himself, or the concourse of the faithful should require it, there may be nothing that can hinder the sacred solemnities of the Masses from being carried out; but the sacred relics received you shall place with due reverence.
我們也願你在那裡設立一位本堂司鐸，好使每當前述建造者或許願為自己舉行彌撒、或信眾的聚集有此需要時，沒有甚麼能妨礙彌撒神聖典禮的舉行；至於所領受的聖物，你當懷著應有的敬虔安放。
