355:1
Gregorius Gaudentio episcopo Nulann. Quoniam a Fuscus Capuanae Ecclesiæ episcopus, in Romana civitate positus, de hac IlIce migravit, curae nobis fuit quæ universis Ecclesiis a nobis inapenditur, ad fraternitatem tuam præsentia scripta dirigere, ut memoratæ Eccłesiæ visitator accedas;
Gregory to Gaudentius, bishop of Nola. Since Fuscus, bishop of the Church of Capua, being stationed in the city of Rome, has departed from this light, it has been our care—which is expended by us upon all Churches—to direct the present writings to your Fraternity, that you may go as visitor to the aforesaid Church;
貴格利致諾拉主教高登提烏斯。既然卡普阿教會的主教弗斯庫斯,在羅馬城駐留期間離世,我們便掛心——這乃是我們對眾教會所付出的——差人將此信送去你弟兄那裡,好使你作為巡視者前往上述教會;

sic tamen ut nibil de provectionibus clercorum re ditu, ornatu, ministeriisque, "cl quidquid præfati laci esse patuerit, b a quoquam præsumi patiaris, sed omnem vigilantiam atque cautelam circa clerum plebemque ejusdem Ecclesiæ exhibere te convenit, ut in vigiliis obsequioque 738 ecclesiastico sedulo ac devote debeant deservire, quatenus fraternitatis tuæ instantia atque adhortatione tales se in servitio divino ex-hibeant, ut irreprehensibile Porum valeat obsequium reperiri. (Grat. dist. 61, c. 19.)
yet in such a way that you suffer nothing of the promotions of the clergy, their revenue, ornaments, and ministries, or whatever shall appear to belong to the aforesaid places, to be presumed by anyone; but it behooves you to display all vigilance and caution regarding the clergy and people of that same Church, so that in the vigils and in ecclesiastical service they may serve diligently and devoutly, so that by the insistence and exhortation of your Fraternity they may show themselves such in the divine service that their service may be found irreproachable.
