Gregorius Eutychio episcopo a Tyndaritano. Scripta fraternitatis tuæ, Benenato Ecclesiæ tuæ clerico deferente, suscepi; gratiasque omnipotenti Deo retuli, quod in causis animae et iis quæad Deum pertinent, te occupatum esse cognovimus. Scripsisti siquidem nobis quosdam idolorum cultores, b atque Angelliorum dogmatis in 673 iis in quibus cODStitutus es partibus inveniri, de quibus plures asseruisti esse conversos, aliquos autem potentum nomine atque locorum se qualitate defendere.
Gregory to Eutychius, bishop of Tyndaris. I have received the letters of Your Fraternity, brought by Benenatus, cleric of your Church; and I have rendered thanks to almighty God that we have learned you to be occupied in the causes of the soul and in those things which pertain to God. For you have written to us that certain worshippers of idols, and adherents of the dogma of the Angellici, are found in those parts in which you are stationed; of whom you have asserted that many have been converted, but some defend themselves under the name of the powerful and by the quality of the places.

Auxiliantes igitur bouis tuæ charitatis operibus, viro glorioso pra'ton Siciliæ nostra scripta transmisimus, quatenus, juvante Domino, qua potest tibi virtute concurrat, ut quod laudabiliter cœptum est, valeat salubriter.dimpleri. Oportet ergo fraternitatem tuam, maximam in hoc sollicitudinem gerere. Vere enim episcopalem vitan sequens, si per zelum liuguamque tuam bos qui a fidei veritate dissentiunt in Ecclesiae unitatem reduxeris
Aiding therefore the good works of your charity, we have transmitted our writings to the glorious man, the praetor of Sicily, that, with the Lord's help, he may concur with you by whatever power he can, so that what has been laudably begun may be able wholesomely to be fulfilled. It behooves Your Fraternity therefore to bear the greatest solicitude in this matter. For truly, following the episcopal life, if by your zeal and your tongue you shall have led back into the unity of the Church those who dissent from the truth of the faith...
