Gregorius Maximiano episcopo Syracusano. Fratres mei qui mecum familiariter vivunt omni modo me compellunt aliqua de miraculis Patrum quæ in Italia facta audivimus sub brevitate scribere. Ad quam rem solatio a vestrae charitatis vehementer indigeo, ut ea quae vobis in memoriam redeunt, quaeque cognovisse vos contigit, niihi breviter indicetis. b De domno enim Nonnoso abbate, qui juxta domnum Anastasium de Pentomis fuit, aliqua retulisse te memini, quae oblivioni mAndavi. Et boc igiiur, et si qua sunt alia, tuis peto epistolis imprimi, et mihi sub celeritate transmitti, si tamen ad ine ipse non properas.
Gregory to Maximian, bishop of Syracuse. My brethren who live familiarly with me by every means constrain me to write briefly some things concerning the miracles of the Fathers which we have heard were done in Italy. For which matter I vehemently need the help of your Charity, that you may briefly indicate to me those things which return to your memory, and those which it has happened to you to have known. For concerning the lord abbot Nonnosus, who was near the lord Anastasius of Pentumae, I remember that you related some things, which I have consigned to oblivion. This, therefore, and if there be any others, I beg to be set down in your letters, and to be transmitted to me with speed, if however you do not yourself hasten to me.
