Gregory to Theodore the curator. Since we altogether presume of your Glory as of a truly most dear son, being certain of you, we commend to you those who are ours. For which reason, greeting you with fatherly affection, we ask that you deign to impart your protection to the bearers of these presents, whom the most glorious Maurentius, master of soldiers, has sent to receive his grant; so that, under your patronage, they may suffer neither delay there contrary to reason nor toil, but may without difficulty obtain, by the aid of your Glory, whatever befits the aforesaid most glorious man; so that he himself may be the more devoted in service to us, and we may be able to render thanks on his behalf, as is fitting.
