Religiosam vitam cligeniibns (Grat. 12, q. 2, t. 75) congrua nos oportet consideratione prospicei e, ne cujusdam necessilatis occasio aut desides faciat, aut robur, quod absit, conversationis infringat. Idcirco prasenti tibi auctoritate præcipimus quatenus domum positam in hac urbe, rcgionc quarta, juxta locum qui appellatur a Gallinas albas, vel hortum juris sanctae Romanæ Ecclesi æ, cui, Deo auctorc, praesidemus, in qna Campana L quondam Patritia mansisse diguosciiur, simul et hortum atque hospitia, quæ intra eamdem domum janua concludit, 637 Floræ abbaiissae debeas tradere, proprietatis jure procui dubio possidendam.
Gregory to Gratiosus the subdeacon. For those who choose the religious life it behoves us to make provision with fitting consideration, lest the occasion of some necessity should either make them slothful or, God forbid, break the strength of their manner of life. Therefore by our present authority we command you that the house situated in this city, in the fourth region, next to the place which is called At the White Hens, belonging to the right of the holy Roman Church over which, God being author, we preside — the house in which Campana, formerly a patrician lady, is known to have dwelt — together with the garden and the lodgings which its gate encloses within the same house, you deliver to Flora the abbess, to be possessed beyond all doubt by right of ownership.

In qua domo monasterium, ubi cum congregatione sua habitare possit, Christo queat adjuvante construere, ut tam ipsa quam edam quae in ejus loco honoreque successerit prædictam iomum et hortum cum omnibus ad se pertinentibus, sicut diximus, quieto inconcussoque jure, a nohis Dictatis consideratione c oncessa, valeat possidere.
In which house she may, with Christ's help, be able to build a monastery where she may dwell together with her congregation, so that both she herself and also she who shall succeed in her place and office may, as we have said, be able to possess the aforesaid house and garden with all that pertains to them, by a peaceful and undisturbed right, granted by the consideration of our dictate.
