ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

Gregory to Cyprian the deacon. We believe that your beloved self has already learned of the death of Theodore the bishop. But since he himself is said to have made a will, it behooves you subtly to inquire whether he had consumed anything of the goods of his Church. And if indeed you shall have learned that he thereby diminished anything unfittingly, so act that those goods be by all means restored by him whom it concerns. But the clergy and people of that place it becomes you to admonish that, all delay being set aside, they choose one who, God revealing it, ought to be ordained bishop for them. (Gratian, Cause 12, q. 5, c. 2.)
