. Sed inter hæc sciendum est quia aliquando animae meritum non in ipso suo egressa ostenditur, post mortem vero certius declaratur. Unde et sancti mar tyres ab infidelibus crudelia multa pe pessi sunt, qui tamen, ut praediximus (Supra, c. G), ad ossa sua mor.. tua signis quotidie et miraculis clarescunt.
但在這些事之中,應當知道:有時一個靈魂的功德並不在它離世之際顯明,卻在死後更確實地被彰顯。因此,聖潔的殉道者也曾從不信者手中遭受許多殘酷的事,然而正如我們先前所說(見上文第六章),他們卻藉每日的異兆與奇蹟,在他們已死的骸骨旁顯出光榮。
But amid these things it must be known that sometimes a soul's merit is not shown in its very departure, yet after death is more surely declared. Whence also the holy martyrs suffered many cruel things from the unbelieving, who nevertheless, as we said before (above, chapter 6), grow illustrious at their dead bones through daily signs and miracles.
