Gregorius Savino subdiacono regionario. Qua: e venerabilis frater noster • Proculus episcopus ab Ecclesia sua diu abfuerit experientia tua non Ignorat. Ad quam quoniam Deo propitio habita nunc, ut oportuit, satisfactionis purgatione reversus est, ne forte per ejus absentiam in aliquo Ecclesiæ ipsius sit neglecta utilitas, aut aliqua sint de ejus jure subtracta, reparare ea vel corrigere cupienti illi in omnibils æquitate servata solatiari te volumus atque concurrere, ut, tua opitulatione suffultus, in his quae ab co agenda sunt, nec difficultatem aliquam quorundam impedimento sustineat, nec diutius debeat laborare.

Gregory to Savinus, regionary subdeacon. That our venerable brother, bishop Proculus, has long been absent from his Church, your discretion is not ignorant. Since now, God being favorable, he has returned to it, as was fitting, once the purgation of due satisfaction has been made, lest perhaps through his absence the interest of that same Church has been in any way neglected, or anything has been withdrawn from its rights, we wish you, with equity preserved in all things, to give aid and to concur with him as he desires to restore or correct these things; so that, supported by your help, he may in those matters which are to be done by him neither suffer any difficulty through the hindrance of certain persons, nor be forced to labor longer.
