Let Your Fraternity, going to the island of Gorgona, examine that which has been reported to us concerning Saturninus, the former presbyter. For it has come to us that, after he had fallen from the order of priesthood on account of the crime of his lapse, he presumed to approach to fulfill the ministry of the presbyterate, and to offer sacrifices to almighty God. But if Your Fraternity shall find that it was so done, reduce him, deprived of participation in the sacred Body and Blood of the Lord, to penance, in such a way that until the day of his death he may remain in that same excommunication, and receive the viaticum only at the time of his departure.
