Gregorius a Sereno episcopo b Anconitano. Vir reverendissimus c Passivus, frater et coepiscopus noster, advenens indicavit argentum Ecclesine suæ a decessorc suo Fabio apud Serenum dia. conum tuum pro temporis qnalitate essa depositum. Cujus parte aliqua restituta, partem apud eum asserit rejacere, et restituere eam quadam excusatione differre. Proinde his fraternitatem tuam hortamur affatibus ut eum admonere studeat, quatenus quæ accepit sine contentione restituat.
額我略致安科納主教塞雷努斯。至可敬的帕西烏斯，我們的弟兄與同為主教者，來到此處，指明他教會的銀器曾由他的前任法比烏斯，因時勢的緣故，寄存於你的執事塞雷努斯處。其中一部分已歸還，他聲稱尚有一部分留在那人手中，而那人藉某種託辭拖延不還。因此，我們以這番話勸勉你弟兄，願你熱心告誡他，使他毫無爭執地歸還他所領受的。
Gregory to Serenus, bishop of Ancona. The most reverend man Passivus, our brother and fellow-bishop, coming here, has indicated that the silver of his Church was deposited by his predecessor Fabius with your deacon Serenus, according to the quality of the time. Of which, some part having been restored, he asserts that a part lies with him still, and that he defers to restore it under some excuse. Accordingly, we exhort Your Fraternity by these words that you be zealous to admonish him, that he restore without contention what he received.

Aut si furte ab ejus restitutione aliqua se excusari ratione canfidit, necesse est ut inter eum et actores Firmanæ Ecclesiæ, una cum Armenio fratre et coepiscopo nostro cognoscere debeatis, et, subtiliter veritate discussa, iti huic causae finein imponere, ut nec ante dictus diaconus pati præjudicium, nec præfata injustedamoum videa ur Ecclesia sustineto.
但倘若他或許自信能憑某種理由推卻歸還，那麼你必須偕同我們的弟兄與同為主教的亞美尼烏斯，於他與費爾莫教會的辦事人之間受理此案，並在細密查明真相之後，為此案作出了結，使前述執事既不蒙受損害，前述教會也不致顯得蒙受不公的損失。
But if perchance he is confident that he can be excused by some reason from restoring it, it is necessary that you, together with our brother and fellow-bishop Armenius, take cognizance between him and the agents of the Church of Fermo, and, the truth being subtly examined, that you impose an end to this cause, so that neither may the aforesaid deacon suffer prejudice, nor may the aforesaid Church seem to sustain unjust loss.
