Gregorius Maurentio magistro militum. Cognoscat gloria vcsira a mandasse nos Anthemio subdiacono ut aliquantis sellas plectiles nobis dirigero studeat. Aut si factas non invenerit, ipsum apud se artificem tollat, ut in domo ipsius debeat laborare, et vel viginti quatuor sellas olnnino bonas faciat. Et ideo quia omnino nobis sunt necessariæ, gloria vestra ut hoc fieri possit provideat. Et si forte vos jam aliquas conquisistis, nobis eas transmittilc. Sed et Juliano viro clarissimo b majori excellentiæ vestrae, aut si quis alter habueril, eas nobis mittere procuret. Ita ei go gloria vestra faciat, ut haec quæ scripsimus sollicitudinis vestrae debeant modis omnibus instanlia procurari.-

Gregory to Maurentius, master of soldiers. Let your Glory know that we have charged Anthemius, subdeacon, to take pains to send us some folding chairs. Or, if he does not find them ready-made, let him take a craftsman to himself, so that the man may work in his own house and make fully twenty-four thoroughly good chairs. And therefore, since they are altogether necessary to us, let your Glory provide that this may be done. And if perchance you have already procured some, send them to us. But also let him take care to send us any that Julianus, a most illustrious man, superior to your Excellency, or any other may have. So let your Glory act toward him, that these things which we have written may by all means be procured with the insistence of your solicitude.
