Gregorins Vitali defensori Sardiniae. Bonifacium praesentium portitorem, notarium scilicet nostrum, ad hoc nos experientia tua illuc transmisisse cognoscat, ut in utilitatem a parochiæ b Barbaricina debeat mancipia comparare. Et ideo experienLia tua omnino ei studiose solliciteque concurrat, ut bono pretio, et talia debeat comparare quæ in ministerio parochiae utilia valeant inveniri, atque emptis ] eis hur, Deo protegente, is ipse celerius possit remeare.
Gregory to Vitalis, defensor of Sardinia. Let your experience know that we have sent thither Bonifacius, the bearer of these presents, namely our notary, for this purpose: that he ought to procure slaves for the benefit of the parish of Barbaricina. And therefore let your experience by all means concur with him studiously and solicitously, so that he may procure such at a good price, and such as may prove useful in the ministry of the parish; and that, these having been bought, he himself, God protecting, may be able the more quickly to return. Hasten, therefore, to show yourself in this matter in such a way that you may prove yourself as it were a lover of those who serve, for whose uses they are bought, and that you yourself may be able to commend yourself to us by your solicitude.
