Gregorius Felici episcopo Sipontino. Propositi nostri sollicitudo nos vehementer aslrin-, git ut ita rerum ecclesiasticarum, Deo auxiliante v dEbeamus providere cautelam, quatenus in eis. nulla possit ex neglectu evenire jactura. Proinde fraternius tua una cum Bonifacio, necnon et Pantaleone latore præsentium, sedis nostrae notariis, res Ecclesiarum, quae apud Sipontinam noscunur esse Ecclesiam, curet subtiliter singulas quasque describere, ut tam ministeria Ecclesiarum, 655 quam eliam usuale argentum, vel qaid juid aliud est,. idem a brevis a vobis conscriptus, veraciter rerum facta inspectione, contineat. Nec quamdam a I hoc moram vel excusationem fraternitas tua tentet adducere;

Gregory to Felix, bishop of Siponto. The solicitude of our purpose vehemently binds us to provide such caution for ecclesiastical affairs, the Lord aiding, that in them no loss may arise from negligence. Accordingly, let your fraternity, together with Bonifacius, and also with Pantaleo the bearer of these presents, notaries of our See, take care subtly to describe each and every one of the things of the Churches which are known to belong to the Church of Siponto, so that both the ministering vessels of the Churches and likewise the ordinary silver, or whatsoever else there is, the same inventory drawn up by you may truthfully contain, an actual inspection of the things having been made. Nor let your fraternity attempt to bring forward any delay or excuse in this;

sed, omni excusatione cessante. hæc quæ a nobis injuncta sunt modis omnibus implere festina, eumdemque nobis brevem manu tua subscriptum per ante dictum Pantaleonem transmitte, quatenus quid de hnc fieri salubriter debeat, divina possins grati i suffragante disponere.

but, all excuse ceasing, hasten by all means to fulfill these things which have been enjoined upon us, and transmit to us the same inventory subscribed by your own hand through the aforesaid Pantaleo, so that, the divine grace assisting, we may be able wholesomely to arrange what ought to be done concerning this.
