Gregory to Leo, bishop of Catania. Our son Severus, a magnificent man, the bearer of the present letter, desiring to come to Sicily, has asked to be commended by our letters to your Fraternity. Therefore receive him when he comes with the priestly charity that is fitting, and minister your comfort to him in whatever the need may require, so that, with you present, he may in no respect feel himself to labour against justice, but rather, supported by the help of your aid, may securely enjoy the quiet which he so studiously loves; and that we may be able to rejoice over his tranquillity, which shall there have been procured through you.
