And therefore, if the things contained therein subsist in truth, and such persons shall have come to you as ought to be trusted with something, it befits you to give, under a written deed, up to twenty solidi, or, if it seem more to you, for the repair of the Churches which are reported to be in ruins, so that both there may be a remedy, and there may be your safeguard.
But concerning the other things which are with you, send out a receipt from the same for the memory of future time, so that when God shall have granted peace, those very things may be able to be restored, without any delay or controversy, to the right of the Church to which they belong.
