Gregory to John the bishop. Since we have enjoined upon Paul, our brother and fellow-bishop, the task of the visitation of the Church of Naples, therefore let your Fraternity not cease to undertake the visitation of the Church of Nepi, so that, as the feast of Easter demands, whatever the solemnity of the sacred rites requires may by your working be in all ways fulfilled. Until therefore we can deliberate what is to be done concerning the person of our aforesaid brother and fellow-bishop, let your Fraternity strive to show yourself skilful and vigilant in all things, so that the aforesaid man may in no way be aggrieved in his absence.
