Gregorius a Felici episcopo b de Acropoli. Quoniam c Vetina (Grat. i2,, q. I, c. 14), d Buxenlina, et e Biandana Ecclesiae, quae tibi in vicino sunt constitutæ, sacerdotis noscuntur vacare regimine; propterea fraternitati tuae earum solemniter operam visitationis injungimus, illud præ omnibus commonentes, ut ubi præfatarum Ecclesinrum sive dioeceseos earum, vel diaconi, sive religiosae peronæ inventae fuerint, districte canoniceque ut vivant I modis omnibus studebis. Nec passim eis in qualibet re sit excedendi licentia, sed tuo moderamine atque provisione inculpabiliter in qua sunt conversatione vel habitu perseverent; sciturus, si quid secus accesserit, tuo neglectui modis omnibus imputari.

Gregory to Felix, bishop of Acropolis. Since the churches of Vetina, Buxentina, and Blanda, which are situated near you, are known to be vacant of a priest's governance; therefore we solemnly enjoin upon your Fraternity the task of their visitation, admonishing you above all things, that wherever, in the aforesaid churches or in their dioceses, deacons or persons of religious life shall be found, you shall by every means strive that they live strictly and canonically. Nor let there be for them anywhere license to overstep in any matter, but let them, by your governance and provision, persevere blamelessly in the manner of life or habit in which they are; knowing that, if anything happen otherwise, it will by every means be imputed to your negligence.

« Preshy.eros quoque vel diacones, si in aliquibus Ecclesiis a praevideris ordinandos, si tales personae fuerint quæ a canonicis regulis morum vel vitae qualitate nullo modo reprobeniur, habebis per omnia ordinandi licentiam. Ministeria vero earumdem Ecclesiarum ubi sint recondita, sollicita indagatione perquire; quibus repertis, ad nostram notionem perducere festi. nato, ut cognoscentes quid fiendum sit, adjutore Domino, disponamus.
你若預見在任何教會中須按立司鐸或執事，也有充分許可去按立他們，只要此等人是那按品行或生活之品質，絕不為教規所拒者。至於那些教會的聖器，凡藏於何處，你當以細心的查究尋出；既已尋得，就趕緊呈報我們知悉，好使我們得知當如何處理後，藉主之助予以安排。
You shall also, if you shall have foreseen that priests or deacons are to be ordained in any of the churches, have full license to ordain them, provided such persons be those who are in no way to be rejected by the canonical rules on account of the quality of their morals or life. But as for the ministries of those same churches, where they may be stored away, search them out with careful investigation; and when they have been found, hasten to bring them to our knowledge, so that, learning what ought to be done, we may, with the Lord's help, dispose of them.
