548:1
Gregorius Romano defensori.
Gregory to Romanus, defensor. In the month of November of the present second indiction we commanded your experience by our precept that you should at last have restored to Calixenus, son of Stephania, the same donation of the house of possession at Catania, which Ammonia, grandmother of the same Calixenus, had conferred upon our Church with holy devotion. This, as is said, you deferred to do on this excuse, that a record of the same donation was not entered in the registers. Know that you said this improperly, since for your safeguard the page of our precept could well suffice. Accordingly, upon receiving the present authority, restore without delay the said house and donation to the aforementioned orphan Calixenus.
548:2
For we know that you yourself also perceive what is just; and yet we, of our kindness, bestow the above-mentioned house upon the aforesaid orphan.
