Gregorius * Thalassioe abbatissæ. Quando ad ea ad quæ catholicorum regum corda pontificalibus sunt II onitis provocanda 1224 ita ardenti desiderio divina praeveniente gratia suc cenduntur, ut ab eis ultro poscantur, tanto sunt alacri et læto animo concedenda quanto et ea ip"a quæ cupiunt, si nollent facere, peti debuerant.
額我略致院長（女）塔拉西亞。當公教君王的心，對於那些理當藉主教的勸勉加以激勵之事，因先臨的天主聖寵而被如此熱切的渴望所點燃，以致這些事竟由他們自發地被祈求時，這些事就當以愈發熱切而喜樂的心予以應允；因為正是他們所渴望的這些事，倘若他們原不願去做，本就理當向他們懇求。
Gregory to Thalassia, abbess. When to those things toward which the hearts of catholic kings are to be provoked by pontifical admonitions they are so kindled with ardent desire, by divine grace going before, that these things are asked of them of their own accord, they are to be granted with a mind so much the more eager and joyful, inasmuch as those very things which they desire ought to have been begged of them, had they been unwilling to do them.

Proinde, juxta scripta filiorum nostrorum praecellentissimorum regum Brunichildis ac nepotis ipsius Theoderici, monasterio sanctæ M ariæ, ubi ancillaruln Dei congregatio est constituta, in urbe Augustodunensi, b a reverendæ memoriae Siagrio episcopo condho, cui praeesse dignosceris, hujusmodi privilegia præsentis auctoritatis nostrae decreto indulgemus, concedimus atque firmamus, statuentes nullum regum, nullum antistitum, Nullum quacunque præditum dignitate, vel quemcunqne alium, de iis quae eidem monasterio a suprascriptis filiis nostris regibus jam donata sunt, vel in futuro a quibuslibet aliis de proprio fuerint jure collata, sub cujuslibet causae occasionisve specie minuere vel auferre, sive suis usibus appHeare, vel aliis quasi piis causis pro suae avaritiæ excusatione possit concedere.

Accordingly, in accordance with the writings of our most excellent sons the sovereigns, king Brunichild and her grandson Theoderic, to the monastery of holy Mary, where a congregation of handmaids of God has been established in the city of Autun, founded by Syagrius, bishop of reverend memory, over which you are known to preside, we grant, concede, and confirm privileges of this kind by the decree of our present authority, ordaining that no king, no bishop, no one endowed with any dignity whatsoever, nor any other person, may under the pretext of any cause or occasion diminish or take away, or apply to his own uses, or grant to others as though for pious causes as an excuse for his greed, any of those things which have already been given to that same monastery by our above-mentioned sons the kings, or which in future may be conferred upon it by any others out of their own right.

Sed cuncta quae ibi oblata sunt, vel ofrerri cont'gerit, tam a te quam ab eis quae in tuo officio locoque successerint, a praesenti tempore illibata et sine inquietudine aliqua volumus possideri, eorum tamen usibus; ro quarum sustentatione gubernationeque concessa sunt modis omnibus profutura. Item constituimus ut obeunte abbatissa praedicti monasterii, non alia ibi quacunque obreptionis astutia ordinetur, nisi quam rcx ejusdem provinciæ, cum consensu monacharum,.secundum Dei timorem elegerit, ac præviderit ordinandam.
但凡在那裡已被奉獻、或將要被奉獻之物，我們願其自現今起永遠由你、以及那些將繼承你職務與位分的人所持有，毫不減損、亦無任何攪擾——然而在各方面都當有益於那些人的用度，即那些為其贍養與治理之故而蒙准予之人。同樣，我們規定：當上述隱修院的院長（女）去世時，不得有他人藉任何暗中攫取的詭計在那裡受任，惟有那位由該省君王、經眾修女同意、按敬畏天主之心所選定並籌備受任者方可。
But all things that have been offered there, or that may happen to be offered, we will that they be possessed both by you and by those who shall succeed to your office and place, from the present time undiminished and without any disturbance—yet in every way to be profitable for the uses of those for whose sustenance and governance they were granted. Likewise we establish that, when the abbess of the aforesaid monastery dies, no other be ordained there by any cunning of stealth, but only her whom the king of that province, with the consent of the nuns, according to the fear of God, shall have chosen and provided for ordination.

Hoc quoque capitulo pra'scuti subjungimus, ut locum avaritiae scdludainu-, nallum de regibus, nullum de sacerdotibus, vel quememque alium per se suppositamve personam, de ordinatione ojus abbatisæ, cel de quibuscunque causis ad monasterium ipsum pertinentibus, audere in auro, vcl alia qualibet specie commodi quidquam accipere, neque eamdem abbalissatn ordinationis suæ causa dare præsumere, ne hac occasione quae a fidelibus piis locis c offeruntur, aut jam oblata sunt, consumaniur.
我們也藉本條文附加此規，為要杜絕貪婪的任何餘地：任何君王、任何主教、或任何他人，無論親自或藉中介之人，皆不得膽敢就該院長（女）的受任、或就任何有關該隱修院之事，以黃金或任何其他利益的形式收取任何財物；那院長（女）也不得擅自為其受任而給予任何財物——免得藉此機會，那些由信眾奉獻於敬虔處所之物、或已奉獻之物，被耗盡。
This also we append by the present chapter, in order to shut out any place for greed: that none of the kings, none of the bishops, nor any other, by himself or by an interposed person, may dare to receive, in gold or in any other kind of gain, anything concerning the ordination of that abbess, or in any matters pertaining to the monastery itself; nor may that abbess presume to give anything on account of her ordination—lest on this occasion those things which are offered by the faithful to pious places, or have already been offered, be consumed.

Et quoniam n:ultæ occasiones, in deceptionem * religiosarum personarum, a pravis illic, ut dicitur, hominibus exquiruntur, abbatissam ejusdem monasterii nullo modo privandam deponendamque censemus, nisi causa specialiter criminis exigente. Unde necesse est ut si qua contra eam hujusmodi querela surrexerit, a non solum episcopus civtatis Augustodunensis causam examinct, sed, adhibitis sibi sex aliis coepiscopis suis, subtli hoc investigatione perquirat, quatenus, cunctis concorditer judicantibus, canonicae districtionis censura, aut ream ferire, aut innocentem possit absolvere.
又因為據說有許多機會被那些邪惡之人尋求，用以欺騙修道之人，我們判定：該同一隱修院的院長（女）絕不可被剝奪職位或被罷免，除非確有罪案特別要求如此。因此必須：若有這樣的控訴針對她而起，不可單由奧頓城的主教審理此案，而須由他召集其六位同為主教者，以縝密的查究審察此事，使眾人一致判斷之後，教規嚴正的裁決或能懲治有罪者、或能開釋無辜者。
And since many occasions are sought out, as is said, for the deceiving of religious persons by those depraved men, we judge that the abbess of that same monastery is in no way to be deprived or deposed, except when a case of crime specifically demands it. Whence it is necessary that, if any such complaint should arise against her, not the bishop of the city of Autun alone should examine the case, but, taking to himself six other of his fellow bishops, should investigate this by subtle inquiry, so that, with all judging in concord, the censure of canonical strictness may either strike the guilty or be able to absolve the innocent.

Haec igitur omnia quae hujus præcepti decretique nostri 1225 ragina continet, tam libi quam cunetis quae iu eo quo es ordine locoque successer nt, vel eis quorum interesse potuerit, in perpetuum scrvanda decernimus. Si quis vero regum, sacerdotum, judicum, atque saecularium perso'tarum, hanc constitutionis nostrae paginam agnoscens, contra cam venire tentaverit, potestatis honorisque sui dignitate careat, reumque se judicio divino existere de perpetrata iuiquitate cognoscat, etc. ut in superiori.
因此，凡我們此項訓令與法令的篇頁所載的這一切，我們命令當永遠被遵守，既由你、也由那些將在你所處的聖秩與位分上繼承你的人，以及那些於此事有干係的人所遵守。但若有任何君王、司鐸、審判官、或屬世之人，明知我們這規章的篇頁，卻圖謀違逆之，願他被剝奪其權力與尊榮的地位，並讓他知道自己因所犯的不義而在天主的審判前顯為有罪，其餘如上文所述。
All these things therefore which the page of this precept and decree of ours contains, we decree are to be observed in perpetuity, both by you and by all who shall succeed you in that order and place in which you are, and by those whose interest it may be. But if any of the kings, priests, judges, or secular persons, recognizing this page of our constitution, shall attempt to come against it, let him be deprived of the dignity of his power and honour, and let him know himself to stand guilty before the divine judgment for the iniquity he has perpetrated, and so forth as above.
