Propterea Maximiano fratri et coepiscopo nostro scripsinus, b ut quarta, quam ejusdem Ecclesiæ episcopum Jportebat accipere, a die visitationis tuæ, vel quuusque illic eam sollicitudinem geslerls, tdebeat applicari.

Since the Church of Agrigentum has been committed to the care of your Fraternity's visitation by us, we have foreseen that something useful ought to be provided from it by your labors. Therefore we have written to Maximian, our brother and fellow bishop, that the quarter which the bishop of that same Church ought to receive should be applied from the day of your visitation, or for as long as you shall exercise that oversight there.

Unde fraternitatem tuam necesse est mente sollicita cogitare, ut cujus fructus Ecclesiae percipit, opera studeat solerter impendere, atque ad Deum illic animas congregare, pravos ab iniquitate compes:ere, et incipientes bona opera, verbo exhortationis nutrire, memor quod de Ecclesia universali scriptum est: Panem otiosa non comedit (Prou. xxxi, 17).

Wherefore it is necessary for Your Fraternity to consider with a solicitous mind that, of whatever Church you receive the fruit, you should strive skillfully to expend labor, and there to gather souls to God, to restrain the wicked from iniquity, and to nourish with the word of exhortation those beginning good works, mindful of what is written concerning the universal Church: She has not eaten her bread in idleness (Proverbs 31:27).
