Gregorius * Amos episcopo Jerosolymitano. Cum fraternitatem vestram confidamus canonum statuta et vigorem diligere disciplinae, ne clerici nostri vobis b ad eviiandam districtionem ecclesiastici ordinis falsilas surripere valeat, ejus culpam sauciitaii vestræ indicare prospeximus, ut sollicitudine vestræ disciplinæ possit submitti quam refugit. Comperimus autem quod Petrus acolythus, quem dilectissimo filio nostro Sabiniano diacono responsa ecclesiastica facienti c observare in urbe regia feceimus, fugiens ad vestram Ecclesiam venerit. Quod si verum est, in tuto eum facere fraternitas vestra et inventa huc studeal occasione remittere.

Since we trust that your Fraternity loves the statutes of the canons and the vigor of discipline, lest a falsehood of our clerics should be able, for the evading of the strictness of ecclesiastical order, to creep in upon you, we have seen fit to indicate his fault to your Holiness, so that he may be subjected to the care of your discipline, which he shuns. Now we have learned that Peter the acolyte, whom we caused to attend upon our most beloved son Sabinianus the deacon, who was rendering the ecclesiastical responses in the royal city, has fled and come to your Church. And if this is true, let your Fraternity be zealous to make him secure, and, when an occasion is found, to send him back hither.

Aut si fortc hoc metuens a vestra discesserit Ecclesia;et per diversa lora, ne comprehendi valeat, laLilet, in omnibus parochiis vestris, ut diligenter requiratnr, injugite, et inventum ad nos, sicut praefati sumus, transmittite; quem etiam volumus per vos quia sit communione privatus agnoscere; nec dominici corporis ac sanguinis quousque ad nos redeat audeat mysteria sumere, nisi forte vicino mortis insistente periculo.
但倘若他或因懼怕此事而離開你的教會，遊蕩各處、隱藏躲避、免得被拿住，那麼就吩咐在你所有的堂區中勤加尋訪，尋得之後，照我們前所說的，把他送到我們這裏；並且我們願意，藉著你使他知曉：他已被斷絕聖餐之交通；在他回到我們這裏之前，他不可擅自領受主的身體與寶血之奧祕，除非或有臨近的死亡危險緊迫。
But if perhaps, fearing this, he has departed from your Church and lies hidden in various places lest he be apprehended, charge that he be diligently sought in all your parishes, and, when found, transmit him to us as we have said before; whom also we wish, through you, to make aware that he is deprived of communion; nor let him dare to receive the mysteries of the Lord's body and blood until he returns to us, unless perhaps some near peril of death be pressing.
