Gregorius Andreæ ° illustri. Omnipotens Deus dulcissimo cordi vestro indicet quia et absens corpore, a charitate vestra animo non recessi. Bona enim vestra, etiam si volo, oblivisci non valeo. Hoc autem quod me ad episcopatus ordinem cognoscitis pervenisse, si IDe diligitis, plangite, quia hic hujus mundi tantae occupationes sunt, ut per episcopatus ordinem pene ab amore Dei me videam esse separatuln. Quod incessanter defleo, atque ut pro me Domir,um e10retis rogo. Præterea sacratissimam clavem a sancti Petri apostoli corpore vobis 520 transmisi, quæ super ægros multis solet miraculis coruscare; nam etiam de ejus catenis interius habetur.
貴鑑，尊貴的安德烈：願全能神使貴至甘之心知曉：我雖身體不在，心思卻未曾離開你的愛德。因為你的美善，即或我願意，也不能忘記。但關於這事，就是你知道我已達到主教的品位，你若愛我，就當哀哭，因為此地今世的事務如此繁重，以致我藉主教的品位，竟看見自己幾乎與神的愛隔絕。這是我不住哀慟的，我也求你為我禱告主。此外，我已把那從聖使徒彼得身體所取的至聖鑰匙寄給你；這鑰匙放在病人身上，常以許多神蹟閃耀；因為其內也存有他鎖鏈的一部分。
Gregory to Andrew, the illustrious. May Almighty God make known to your most sweet heart that, even absent in body, I have not departed in mind from your charity. For your good things, even if I wished, I cannot forget. But as to this, that you know me to have arrived at the order of the episcopate, if you love me, lament, because here the occupations of this world are so great that through the order of the episcopate I see myself to be almost separated from the love of God. Which I incessantly bewail, and I ask that you pray to the Lord for me. Moreover, I have transmitted to you the most sacred key from the body of the holy Apostle Peter, which upon the sick is wont to flash with many miracles; for it also has within it something of his chains.
