VERS. 37. — Qui addidit super peccata sua blasphemiam. 12. Eliu eos adumbrat, qui cum pro veritate loqui videantur, a veritate sunt alieni. — Accusat eum et pro peccatis flagella meruisse, et post flagella peccasse. Longe vero aliter Dominus judicat, qui ct frustra flagellatum jusinuat, ct bOna duplicia post flagella retribuit ( Job. ii, 3). Poena eniiu debetur culpæ, non præmium. Beatus ergo Job sine culpa locutus osienditur, quem post locutionem præmia subsequuntur (Job. XLII. 10). Eliu itaque, quia pro Domini defensionibus loquens, de beato Job aliud quam Dominus sentit, quasi dum pro vertate verba multiplicat, a veritate discordat. Sequitur:
第三十七節——他在罪上又加了褻瀆。十二、以利戶預表那些看似為真理發言、實則與真理相悖的人。——他控告約伯既因其罪過該受鞭打，又在受鞭打之後犯罪。但主的判斷卻大為不同，祂既宣告約伯是無故受鞭打，又在鞭打之後將加倍的美善報答他（伯二3）。因為刑罰是與罪過相稱，賞賜卻非如此。所以有福的約伯被顯明是無過而言，因在他發言之後有賞賜隨之而來（伯四十二10）。所以以利戶，因他雖為主辯護發言，對有福的約伯的看法卻與主的不同，就彷彿在他為真理增添言辭之時，反與真理相悖。下文接著說：
Verse 37. — Who addeth blasphemy upon his sins. 12. Elihu prefigures those who, though they seem to speak for the truth, are strangers to the truth. — He accuses him both of having deserved scourges for his sins, and of having sinned after the scourges. But far otherwise does the Lord judge, who both declares him scourged in vain, and after the scourges renders him double good things (Job ii, 3). For punishment is owed to fault, not reward. Blessed Job, therefore, is shown to have spoken without fault, whom, after his speaking, rewards follow (Job xlii, 10). Elihu therefore, because, speaking in the Lord's defense, he feels otherwise of blessed Job than the Lord does, as it were, while he multiplies words for the truth, disagrees with the truth.
