Deus nos respiciendo per gratiam reformat. — 7. Respicere quippe Dei est ea quae amissa ac perdita fuerant ad suam gratiam reformare. Unde scriptum est; Rex qui sedet in solio judicii, dissipet omne malum intuitu suo (Prov. xx, 8). Respiciendo namque levitatis nostræ mala coercuit, et magna merita maturitatis dedit. Unde adhuc subditur:
天主藉著垂顧我們，以恩典重塑我們。——因為「垂顧」是屬於天主的——把那些曾經喪失敗壞之物，重塑歸於祂的恩典。因此經上記載：「坐在審判寶座上的君王，以他的目光驅散一切邪惡」（箴二十8）。因為祂藉著垂顧我們，抑制了我們輕浮的邪惡，並賜予成熟的大功。因此又補上：
God, by looking upon us, reforms us through grace. — For to 'look upon' is proper to God — to reform to His grace those things which had been lost and perished. Whence it is written: 'The king that sitteth on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his look' (Prov. 20:8). For by looking upon us He restrained the evils of our levity, and gave great merits of maturity. Whence it is further added:
