C ap. xx, V ers. 2. — Idcirco cogitationes meoe varie succedunt sibi, et mens in diversa rapitur. 1. Quanto terrore ex assidua ejus consideratione affici debeamus. -Ac si apertis vocibus dicat: Quia extremi judicii terrorem considero, idcirco cogitatio- num tumultibus in timore a confundor. Tanto se quipp(??) animus amplius, in cogitatione b dilatat, quanto illud esse terribile, quod imminet, pensat. Et in diversa mens rapitur, quando modo mala quae egit, modo bona quae agere neglexit, modo reprehensibilia in quibus est, modo recta quae sibi adhuc deesse conspicit, sollicito pavore perpendit.
第二十章，第二節。——因此我紛雜的思念此起彼落，我的心被奪往各方。一、我們當因不斷思量此事而受何等驚怖的影響。——他彷彿以明白的話說：因為我思量末後審判的驚怖，所以我在思念的紛擾中被恐懼所困。因為心思愈是權衡那臨近之事何等可畏，就愈在思念中擴張。而心被奪往各方，乃是當它以焦慮的驚恐細思：一時思及它所行的惡，一時思及它所疏忽未行的善，一時思及它所陷於其中的可責之事，一時思及它察覺自己仍缺乏的正直之事。
Chapter xx, Verse 2. — Therefore my various thoughts succeed one another, and my mind is snatched in diverse directions. 1. With how great a terror we ought to be affected by the constant consideration of it. — As if he said in open words: Because I consider the terror of the final judgment, therefore I am confounded in fear by the tumults of my thoughts. For the mind expands the more in thought, the more it weighs how terrible is that which is imminent. And the mind is snatched in diverse directions, when now the evils it has done, now the good things it has neglected to do, now the reprehensible things it is in, now the right things which it perceives to be still lacking to it, it ponders with anxious dread.

Sed amici beati Job cum assiduitate vitae illius edocti bene vivere noverint, pensare tamen subtiliter Dei judicia ne- sc entes, mala hic justorum quempiam posse recipere n(??)n credebant. Unde et eumdem sanctum virum ini- quum esse suspicati sunt, quem flagellatum viderunt, atque ex hac suspicione agebatur ut in ejus quoque increpationem dilaberentur; ad quam tamen incre- pationem quasi sub quadam reverentia descendunt. Unde Sopba(??) subjicit dicens:
但有福約伯的朋友，雖因他生命的恆久而受教、懂得如何善度人生，卻不知如何細細權衡神的審判，於是不信義人在此能遭受禍患。因此他們懷疑這位他們看見被鞭打的聖人為惡人；又因這疑心，竟致滑落到斥責他的地步——然而他們是彷彿懷著某種敬意才降至這責備的。因此瑣法接著說：
But the friends of blessed Job, being taught by the constancy of his life to know how to live well, yet not knowing how to weigh subtly the judgments of God, did not believe that any of the righteous could here receive evils. Whence they suspected that same holy man, whom they saw scourged, to be wicked; and out of this suspicion it came about that they slipped even into rebuking him — a rebuke to which nevertheless they descend as it were under a certain reverence. Whence Zophar subjoins, saying:
